ADRY BM desiccant dryers for breathing air
Omega Air ADRY BM desiccant dryers are designed for drying and purifying compressed air for breathing. Two desiccant columns, as on the ADRY dryers, dry the air to a pressure dew point of −40 °C, and a third column with special functional materials reduces the concentration of certain substances to an acceptable level.
The manufacturer also intends the BM version for medical applications where the European Pharmacopoeia applies. 6 sizes from 6 to 75 Nm³/h (100 to 1,250 l/min) for pressures of 4 to 16 bar, with a 0.01 µm inlet microfilter and a 1 µm outlet dust filter included.

Sizes and technical data
The inlet flow is the nominal flow the dryer can dry; the outlet flow is lower by the regeneration air. Dimensions with filters (A*, B*, C*) apply to the dryer with inlet and outlet filter, as supplied.

The nominal flow refers to intake air at 1 bar(a) and +20 °C at a working pressure of 7 bar, an inlet temperature of +35 °C and a pressure dew point of −40 °C at the outlet. If the dryer runs without the inlet filter, the incoming air must meet class 1 according to ISO 8573-1 for solid particles and oil.
How to choose the size
The dryer must handle the actual flow of the compressor at your pressure, inlet temperature and required dew point. Multiply the nominal inlet flow by the manufacturer’s correction factors and choose the size that gives the same as or more than your flow.

How the ADRY BM dryer works
The two desiccant columns work just as on ADRY dryers: one dries while the other is regenerated with a small portion of the already dried air. Springs in the columns keep the desiccant beads in place.
The third column is filled with a combination of special functional materials that reduce the concentration of certain substances in the air to an acceptable level.
The quality of breathing air depends on the whole system, from the compressor and filtration to the air line. The design and maintenance of the dryer are described under the ADRY dryers.
Control unit
In the basic version the control unit shows its status with six LEDs, dryers with energy-saving dew point control have a control unit with a display.

Size the dryer from the actual compressor flow and do not forget the pressure correction: at 6 bar the dryer has only 88% of its nominal capacity.
