TECNA is an Italian company from Castel San Pietro Terme near Bologna, in business since 1972. Its core business is resistance welding, and it also makes balancers for suspending tools. We offer TECNA balancers from series 931 to 934 for tools from 0.4 to 14 kg.
A balancer holds the tool above the workstation while a spring balances its weight. You do not have to hold the tool, it returns to the top after use and does not clutter the bench or the floor. Your hands tire less and the work is safer.

Each model has its own capacity range, such as 4–6 kg. Choose the one that covers the weight of the tool including the hose and coupling.
How to choose and set up a balancer
1. Weigh the tool
Weigh the tool together with the quick coupling and the piece of hose hanging from it. Choose the model by this weight.
2. Choose the cable
A 1.6 m cable is enough above a workbench. If you move the tool around more, choose a 2 or 2.5 m cable.
3. Hang it up
Hang the balancer by its hook from a fixed point. Secure it with a second suspension through the safety eye.
4. Set the force
Adjust the spring so that the tool stays at working height and neither rises nor drops by itself. Only pull the cable out as far as you need.
Frequently asked questions
- Which balancer do I need for my tool?
- It depends on the weight of the tool including the hose and coupling. This must fall within the capacity range of the model, for example a 5 kg tool on a 4–6 kg balancer. Series 931 is for tools up to 3 kg, series 932 to 934 for tools up to 14 kg.
- What does the fall arrest device do?
- If the spring breaks, the device catches the cable and the tool does not fall. According to the manufacturer it engages so quickly that the load drops no more than 10 cm. Series 932, 933 and 934 balancers have it.
- Is a balancer only for air tools?
- No. TECNA balancers can carry other tools too within their capacity, such as electric tools or welding guns. They suit craft workshops, car repair shops and industry.
- How long a cable should I choose?
- Series 931 has a 1,600 mm cable, series 932 2,000 mm and series 933 and 934 2,500 mm. A longer cable lets you pull the tool lower, for example to a part lying on the floor.
- Does TECNA also make welding machines?
- Yes, the core business of TECNA is resistance welding, and balancers are another of its product lines. We only sell TECNA balancers.
