Product detailed description
simalube Drive Unit - 125ml

The drive unit is the "engine" of the simalube automatic lubricator — it creates the pressure that pushes the lubricant into the lubricated point. It is used for the recommissioning of a refillable 125ml lubricator: refill the lubricator body with lubricant and install a new drive unit.
Purpose of the drive unit
The simalube automatic lubricator is refillable up to 3×. Once empty, simply refill the body with lubricant and install a new drive unit — there is no need to purchase an entirely new lubricator. This further reduces lubrication costs and decreases the amount of waste. The 125ml drive unit is intended exclusively for lubricators with a volume of 125ml.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the drive unit universal? No, it is tied to the lubricator volume — this one for 125ml.
How many times can the lubricator be refurbished this way? Up to 3× (refill lubricant + new drive unit).

VENTILEK ADVISES:
Do not dispose of the empty lubricator — simply replace the drive unit, refill the lubricant, and it's ready for use. More cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Just ensure that the drive unit volume matches the lubricator volume.

Simalube is an automatic single-point lubricator made by simatec, a Swiss family company founded in 1983. The lubricator screws straight into the lubrication point and dispenses lubricant on its own, continuously for 1 to 12 months, even where a grease gun cannot reach.
Inside is a dry cell that produces hydrogen: the gas pushes a piston, which presses the lubricant into the bearing. No battery and no cables. The lubricator works in any position, even under water, and the dispensing period can be changed or stopped at any time.

All-purpose SL01, SL24 and SL02
Bearings, guides and standard machines. Multi-purpose grease SL01, EP grease SL24 for changing temperatures and SL02 grease with MoS₂ for shock loads.
- SL01: −30 to +120 °C
- SL24: −30 to +140 °C, outdoor machines
- SL02: shock-loaded bearings and pins
Hot processes SL04 and SL15
Dryers, ovens and paint shops. High-temperature grease SL04 for bearings and synthetic chain oil SL15.
- SL04: grease up to +160 °C
- SL15: chain oil up to +250 °C
- the lubricator itself takes ambient up to +55 °C
Food industry SL10 and SL18
NSF H1 registered lubricants. SL10 grease and SL18 oil for points where incidental food contact is possible.
- SL10: grease −40 to +120 °C
- SL18: oil −15 to +150 °C
- food, beverage and pharmaceutical lines
Chains, gears and outdoors
SL14 oil, SL06 fluid grease and SL09 bio grease. For conveyor chains, central lubrication circuits, gearboxes and machines near water.
- SL14: chain oil −10 to +90 °C
- SL06: fluid EP grease, easy to pump
- SL09: biodegradable grease
Empty SL00 and drive units
For the lubricant your machine maker specifies. Fill the empty lubricator with your own grease or oil. A new drive unit brings a used lubricator back into service.
- all 5 sizes, 15–250 ml
- can be refilled up to three times
- the drive unit must match the size
All simalube lubricators are in one category. The filter narrows them down by lubricant, container size and base oil.

The temperature applies to the lubricant; the lubricator itself works at an ambient −20 to +55 °C. Every filling comes in five sizes from 15 to 250 ml.
How to fit the lubricator
1. Choose lubricant and size
Choose the lubricant by location and temperature and the size by consumption. A larger lubricator lasts longer, a smaller one fits into tight spaces.
2. Set the period
Cut off the plastic cap and set the emptying period of 1 to 12 months on the activation screw. Hold an oil lubricator with the thread pointing up.
3. Mark and screw in
Write the activation date on the lubricator with a marker and screw it into the lubrication point. The connection thread is R 1/4″.
4. Replace or refill
Replace an empty lubricator with the same type, or fill it with lubricant and fit a new drive unit of the same size.
Frequently asked questions
- How does a simalube lubricator work?
- Turning the activation screw makes a dry cell produce hydrogen. The gas pushes the piston evenly, which presses the lubricant into the lubrication point. You can see the remaining lubricant through the transparent body.
- How many times can it be refilled?
- Up to three times. Fill the body with lubricant and fit a new drive unit of the same size. The empty SL00 lubricator is filled with your own lubricant from the start.
- Does the lubricator work under water?
- Yes. The lubricator is rated IP68, dust-tight and waterproof, and can be installed in any position. It works at ambient temperatures from −20 to +55 °C.
- Is it suitable for explosive atmospheres?
- Yes. Simalube lubricators are Ex certified for all zones (KEMA 09ATEX0098X, IECEx DEK 20.0032X). The exact marking is on the product page.
- How long can the lubricator be stored?
- It should be activated within 2 years of the production date. Ideally store it at 20 °C ± 5 °C.
Installation and filling instructions and a brochure in Czech are available for download with every lubricator. The manufacturer simatec ag also makes simatherm induction heaters and simatool tools. simalube® is a registered trademark of simatec ag.
