How to connect and maintain air tools
1. Pressure and hose
M7 air tools work at 6.3 bar. Large impact wrenches need a wider hose, the NC-9223 for example a 20 mm hose.
2. Enough air
Compare the air consumption of the tool with the output of the compressor. The 1 1/2″ NC-9223 uses 453 l/min on average.
3. Treated air
Fit a filter, condensate separator or dryer after the compressor. Clean, dry air extends the life of the tools.
4. Lubrication
Oil the tools regularly with air tool oil, for example a few drops into the air inlet before work.
Frequently asked questions
- Which impact wrench should I choose?
- By bolt size. A 1/2″ wrench suits car wheels and general workshop jobs, 3/4″ to 1″ trucks and machinery, and 1 1/2″ with up to 4,746 Nm the largest bolts, for example in power plants.
- Can I use ordinary sockets on an impact wrench?
- Use impact sockets made of hardened material on impact wrenches. Ordinary hand-tool sockets are not built for impacts and may crack.
- Which compressor do I need for the tools?
- One that delivers 6.3 bar and more air than the tool consumes. The air consumption of each tool is on its product page.
- Do M7 batteries fit all cordless tools?
- M7 cordless tools use shared 18 V batteries, so one battery works in several tools. The tools are sold on their own and in sets with a battery and charger.
- Why do air tools need oiling?
- Oil reduces friction and wear in the motor and mechanism. Without oil the tool runs hotter and wears out sooner.
- What if my M7 tool needs repairing?
- We will arrange the repair of your M7 tool. While it is being repaired, we can lend you a replacement tool so your work does not have to stop.
