Description
The FDRY-OS dew point sensor (OS220) measures the dew point of the dried air and sends it to the control unit of the F-DRY dryer. The unit then switches not only by time but by the actual humidity.
The dryers are designed for full load but usually run at part load. The sensor detects the reduced load, the unit extends the cycle and the share of purge air falls. In the fixed cycle 15 to 20% of the air is used for regeneration on average. The sensor is mounted in the FDRY-MK measuring chamber. The version with cable is the FDRY-OSCB.
Operating cycles of desiccant dryers
- Fixed cycle: the columns switch every 10 minutes (5 min adsorption, 4 min regeneration, 1 min repressurisation), 12 times per hour.
- Dew point control: with the sensor and measuring chamber the cycle is extended by the actual humidity.
- Stand-by: on a signal from the compressor or control system air flows freely through both columns and the dryer waits.
