Under the ESSENTIAL brand we offer hoses for plants and workshops: PVC hoses for compressed air up to 80 bar, multi-purpose EPDM rubber hoses, hoses for hot water and steam, Lock Profi push-on hoses and water hoses with a bore of up to 203 mm.
The ranges differ mainly in material and the temperature they can take. PVC and PU/PVC hoses are light and flexible for air to tools, while EPDM rubber resists hot water, steam, weather and UV light. So choose by medium, pressure and maximum temperature.
For air, water and steamESSENTIAL hoses by use
HV for compressed air
For air tools and spray guns. A PVC hose with one textile braid that resists condensate from the air.
- 20, 40 or 80 bar
- bore from 6 to 25 mm
- temperature up to +60 °C
Multi Profi in EPDM
One hose for water, air and chemicals. EPDM rubber resistant to weather, sunlight and ozone, reinforced with synthetic yarn.
- MP: 20 bar, −40 to +95 °C
- 10L: 10 bar, up to +125 °C
- also for agricultural chemicals
Heat Profi 120 for hot water
Hot water with steam and coolants. EPDM tube and cover resistant to heat, ozone and abrasion, textile braid.
- temperature −40 to +120 °C
- working pressure 10 bar
- bore from 10 to 80 mm
Steam Profi 165 for steam
Saturated steam up to +170 °C. EPDM rubber with a high-strength textile braid, meeting DIN 2825.
- working pressure 7 bar
- burst pressure 60 bar
- bore from 10 to 63 mm
Lock Profi push-on hoses
Fitted without hose clamps. NBR tube, synthetic rubber cover resistant to oils and abrasion, five colours to tell lines apart.
- working pressure 21 bar
- oils, water, antifreeze, air
- temperature −40 to +100 °C

Pressure means the working pressure of the hose. The outer and inner diameters of each hose are listed in its parameters.
How to choose and connect a hose
1. Medium and temperature
For air, PVC or PU/PVC is enough; for hot water and steam choose EPDM rubber. Plan for the highest medium temperature, not the average.
2. Pressure
The working pressure of the hose must be higher than the line pressure. Steam hoses have a lower working pressure than water hoses of the same size.
3. Connection
Push a standard hose onto the fitting and secure it with a hose clamp. Lock Profi push-on hoses are simply pushed onto a push-on fitting.
4. Inspection
Check steam and hot water hoses regularly for swelling, cracks or hardening. Replace a damaged hose straight away.
Frequently asked questions
- Which ESSENTIAL hose for a compressor and tools?
- HV in PVC with a textile braid for 20, 40 or 80 bar resists condensate from the air. More flexible is HVPU in PU/PVC for 16 to 20 bar, with good abrasion resistance.
- What is the difference between Heat Profi and Steam Profi?
- Heat Profi 120 is for hot water mixed with steam and coolants up to +120 °C and 10 bar. Steam Profi 165 is for saturated steam up to +170 °C and 7 bar and meets DIN 2825.
- What are Lock Profi push-on hoses?
- Lock Profi hoses are pushed onto push-on fittings without hose clamps. The LOP range carries oils, water, antifreeze and air up to 21 bar; the ELP range is compatible with Push Lock systems and takes 28 bar.
- What are the coloured stripes on Multi Profi for?
- Multi Profi 10L hoses are black or have a blue or red stripe. The stripe makes it easy to tell apart lines carrying media at different temperatures.
- Can Water Profi be used for suction?
- Yes, the Water Profi SP version is a suction and delivery hose. Both versions carry water, waste and sea water, sludge and low-concentration chemicals up to 10 bar.
The material, temperature and pressure of every ESSENTIAL hose are listed in its product parameters.
