When air is compressed, condensate may form in the pressure vessel or air receiver. It accumulates in the vessel and corrosion occurs. The unwanted condensate of course also binds to the outgoing compressed air and damages other pneumatic elements such as air tools, cylinders and NC machines. To prevent this process it is necessary from time to time to drain the condensate from the pressure vessel of the compressor and thus carry out the necessary maintenance of the machine. For easy and comfortable draining we can choose these automatic condensate drains, which will carry out the necessary maintenance automatically for us. They prevent wear and corrosion in the compressed air system. Small dimensions, no noise and the draining of the water alone without compressed air. There is thus no reduction of the air flow.

The new LD condensate draining series uses for its function a system called capacitive draining. Compared with traditional timed draining, this system has several substantial advantages.
| Capacitive condensate draining |
Timed condensate draining |
| + only water is drained, no compressed air |
+ small dimensions |
| + energy savings |
- the valve drains water and compressed air as well |
| + no noise and a more pleasant working environment |
- increased costs for the production of compressed air |
| |
- high noise level |
The condensate draining process
|
| The condensate enters through connection ❶. In tank ❷ the condensate collects and diaphragm valve ❸ keeps the drain opening closed. As the level rises, float ❹ rises, and after reaching the upper level valve ❻ opens, which is controlled by the logic circuit of solenoid valve ❺. The condensate is drained and when the level reaches the minimum, the diaphragm closes the drain opening again without compressed air escaping to the outside. A filter and a flow regulator are newly placed in the hose holder. |
