P-VAC vacuum filters to protect vacuum pumps

P-VAC vacuum filters protect vacuum pumps. They are mounted on the suction side and trap solid particles and liquid that would damage the pump.
The range has 17 sizes with a G 1/8" to 3" thread and a flow of 1.25 to 345 Nm³/h at atmospheric pressure. It works at an absolute pressure of 20 to 2,000 mbar and a temperature of +1.5 to +65 °C. The housing is dark grey (RAL 7021).

Sizes

The size determines the flow: from 1.25 Nm³/h for size 0006 to 345 Nm³/h for size 2406. Both elements, the pre-filter and the fine pre-filter, fit the same housing in each size.
Dimensions and space for element replacement

Leave free space D below the filter: the filter bowl is removed downwards when the element is replaced. For large sizes this is up to 780 mm.
Flow under vacuum
The flows apply at atmospheric pressure. When selecting, multiply the system flow by the factor C2 for the absolute pressure in the pipeline and choose a size with at least that flow.
| Flow correction by the vacuum level in the pipeline | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Absolute pressure | Vacuum relative to atmosphere | Actual filter flow (× C1) | System flow for selection (× C2) |
| 1,000 mbar | 0 mbar | 1 | 1 |
| 900 mbar | 100 mbar | 0.9 | 1.1 |
| 800 mbar | 200 mbar | 0.8 | 1.25 |
| 700 mbar | 300 mbar | 0.7 | 1.43 |
| 600 mbar | 400 mbar | 0.6 | 1.67 |
| 500 mbar | 500 mbar | 0.5 | 2 |
| 400 mbar | 600 mbar | 0.4 | 2.5 |
| 300 mbar | 700 mbar | 0.3 | 3.33 |
| 200 mbar | 800 mbar | 0.2 | 5 |
| 100 mbar | 900 mbar | 0.1 | 10 |
| 50 mbar | 950 mbar | 0.05 | 20 |
| 20 mbar | 980 mbar | 0.02 | 50 |
Ventilek’s tip
The pre-filter spares the fine element. Where the vacuum pump draws in liquid or coarser dust, install a P-VACP pre-filter before the P-VACM fine pre-filter.
- What is the difference between P-VACP and P-VACM?
- P-VACP has a 3 µm element for liquid and larger particles, P-VACM a 0.1 µm element for very fine contaminants. The housing is the same for both.
- Is an element included with the filter?
- Yes, the filter is supplied with an element, without a drain.
- How do I choose the size?
- By the flow under vacuum: multiply the system flow by the factor C2 from the table and choose a size with at least that nominal flow.
