Refrigeration dryer RDS-235 – G 1 1/2", 3,917 l/min
Code: RDS-235Related products
Product detailed description
The RDS-235 refrigeration dryer dries compressed air to a pressure dew point of +3 °C, i.e. water class 4 according to ISO 8573-1. It handles 3,917 l/min (235 m³/h) at 7 bar, operates at up to 16 bar and connects via a female thread G 1 1/2"; power supply 230/50 V/Hz.
It belongs to the Omega Air RDS refrigeration dryer range with R513A refrigerant, an automatic zero air loss condensate drain and a controller that displays the dew point.

Dimensions according to the manufacturer: width A 495 mm, depth B 558 mm, height C 826 mm; weight 56 kg. The dryer is moved by forklift.
Flow rate under other conditions
The nominal flow rate of 3,917 l/min applies to +25 °C room temperature, +35 °C inlet temperature, 7 bar and +3 °C dew point. Under other conditions, multiply it by the manufacturer’s correction factors. For example, at 10 bar, +40 °C inlet temperature and +30 °C room temperature, the RDS-235 handles 3,917 × 1.14 × 0.83 × 0.96 = 3,558 l/min.

How it works

The air passes through the three-stage heat exchanger module: the dried air pre-cools it, the refrigerant in the evaporator cools it so that the water vapour condenses, the demister separates the water droplets and the drain discharges them. The dry air is warmed up again at the outlet, so no moisture condenses on the pipework.
Equipment
The automatic condensate drain discharges water without air loss. The controller displays the dew point and signals alarms; the dryer communicates via MODBUS and can be switched on and off remotely. The refrigerant circuit is protected by a temperature switch and a pressure switch.

R513A refrigerant

R513A refrigerant has zero ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential, and it has replaced the former R134a refrigerant.
Position in the system
The dryer goes downstream of the compressor and air receiver. Install a 3 µm pre-filter upstream of it, for example one of the basic compressed air filters; downstream, depending on the required purity, install a fine pre-filter and a microfilter. For a dew point below 0 °C, you need a desiccant dryer.
Accessories
For maintenance without shutting down the air line: bypass piping RDP-180-BP.

Omega products are used everywhereA wide range of applications is typical for Omega Air products. Its products are used in heavy industry as well as by private entities. Slovenia's footprint is thus noticeable in industrial sectors such as electrical, gastronomy, pharmaceuticals, moto and also in the chemical-industrial sector. However, the company's main product is special filters, which are exported all over the world. |
No greenhorn in the industryOmega Air also boasts several proprietary innovations and patents that originate in the development department. The company has also been awarded several times for its innovative solutions at the International Engineering Fair itself, which is traditionally held in Hannover, Germany. The Omega Air product range is brought to you by our air compressors company below. |
