5/3 exhausted centre
5/3 valves with an exhausted centre vent both cylinder chambers at rest — the piston is released and can be moved by hand. They suit set-up work, part loading and safe depressurisation in a fault.
The valve designation reads like a fraction: the first number is the count of ports, the second the count of spool positions. Choose the actuation and reset method to match your control system — a solenoid suits electrical control, an air pilot signal works where electricity is unwelcome. Also check the port thread, the coil voltage and the flow you need.
