5/3 closed centre
5/3 valves with a closed centre block every port at rest — the piston stops where it is and holds that position even against an external load. They are used wherever a cylinder needs to stop part-way through its stroke.
The valve designation reads like a fraction: the first number is the count of ports, the second the count of spool positions. Choose the actuation and reset method to match your control system — a solenoid suits electrical control, an air pilot signal works where electricity is unwelcome. Also check the port thread, the coil voltage and the flow you need.
