IHP4N5 stainless high-pressure basic mesh filters up to 420 bar
The IHP4N5 basic filter has an element of 1.4301 stainless steel mesh and traps solid particles larger than 5 µm.
The IHP4N5 filter comes in 8 sizes with G 1/4" to G 2" threads and flows of 667 to 11,917 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 420 bar. It is one of the stages of the IHP4 stainless steel filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

When to use it
A basic filter is enough where the main concern is solid contaminants and oil in the air does not matter. It most often serves as a pre-filter before the finer stages, which then last longer. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it
After the IHP4N25 coarse filter or directly at the start of the filtration, before the IHP4R dust filter or IHP4M fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: from 100 bar, 12 times as much as at 7 bar.

Element, drain and maintenance
The housing holds a single element, a different one for each size — for example IHPN5-007V for the IHP4N5-007. The same element also fits IHPN5 filters for a different pressure. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. The TD420M timed drain up to 420 bar is suitable; it is connected to the G 1/4" opening in the bottom.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months.

Stage N5 also comes in the IHP1N5 filters up to 100 bar and IHP2N5 filters up to 250 bar.
Ventilek’s tip
For contaminants, a mesh is enough. When the air does not have to be oil-free, the N5 stainless steel mesh will do. For oil, add the fine pre-filter M and the microfilter S after it.
- What rating does the IHP4N5 basic filter have?
- The mesh traps particles larger than 5 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- Does it also trap oil?
- No. For oil, there are the M fine pre-filters and S microfilters.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
