AAFA2 activated carbon adsorption filters, class 1-x-0

The AAFA2 adsorption filter with activated carbon removes residual oil, oil vapours and aerosols to below 0.005 mg/m³. According to the supplier, it meets class 1-x-0 under ISO 8573-1.
The AAFA2 filter comes in 6 sizes with G 1/2" to 1 1/2" threads and flows of 1,300 to 13,000 l/min at 7 bar. It is one of the stages of the AAF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
AAFA2 filters by size
The size number is the flow in Nm³/h at 7 bar. Each filter has a spare element, connection kits and a housing without element for your own combination.

When to use it
The AAFA2 adsorption filter suits applications with the strictest oil requirements. It comes in six sizes, 78 to 780, and works up to +45 °C.
Where to place it

Always after the AAFS microfilter, just like the AAFA activated carbon filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar, an ambient temperature of +20 °C and an air inlet temperature of +35 °C. At a different pressure, the flow changes according to the correction factor.

Element, drain and maintenance

Element: activated carbon and borosilicate microfibres, pressure drop of a new element 60 mbar. Working temperature +1.5 to +45 °C, pressure up to 16 bar.
The bowl has an MCD manual drain. You will find other drains among the condensate drains for filters.
The element must be replaced at least once every 6 months, earlier if the oil content is higher.
Spare elements for all stages are among the AAF elements; connection kits join the filters into a bank and fix them to the wall.
Elements and accessories for AAFA2 filters
Ventilek’s tip
For the strictest oil class, AAFA2. The standard AAFA activated carbon meets class 1 for oil. Where class 0 is specified, choose the AAFA2 adsorption filter.
- What is the difference between AAFA and AAFA2?
- Both contain activated carbon, and residual oil is below 0.005 mg/m³. AAFA meets class 1-x-1; according to the supplier, the AAFA2 adsorption filter meets class 1-x-0.
- What sizes does it come in?
- In six sizes, 78 to 780, with G 1/2" to 1 1/2" threads.
- How often should the element be replaced?
- Within 6 months at the latest, earlier if the oil content is higher.
