Mebra Plastik tubing is made by the Italian family company Mebra Plastik Italia. Mario Metti founded it in 1972 in a 100 m² garage, and today the second and third generations of the family run it. All production is in Busto Arsizio: four buildings with 33,500 m² turn out more than 65 million metres of tubing a year.
We offer tubing for pneumatics and automation in polyurethane and polyamide, fluoropolymer tubing for chemicals and high temperatures, spiral hoses for tools and tube cutters. It is used by large industrial plants, agriculture and workshops. Choose the material by pressure, temperature and how flexible the tube needs to be.
Made in ItalyMebra Plastik tubing by material
Polyurethane tubing
A flexible tube for pneumatics. Flexible tubing resistant to oxygen, ozone, vibration and ageing, for automation and measuring equipment.
- PUJ, Elastollan C98, UV-resistant and twin
- for mechanically stressed lines
- temperature up to +60 °C
Polyamide tubing
Rigid, pressure-resistant, for long runs. PA11 Rilsan polyamide tubing resistant to moisture, salt water, oils, chemicals and ageing.
- PA11 Rilsan, PA12, PA6
- PA12 Longlife to DIN 73378 and 74324
- antistatic PA12 ATEX
Fluoropolymer tubing
Chemicals and high temperatures. PTFE, FEP, PFA and PVDF tubing with excellent resistance to chemicals, ozone and UV light.
- PTFE and PFA up to +260 °C
- FEP very clear, up to +200 °C
- PVDF for aggressive media
Spiral hoses for tools
A springy air line to blow guns and screwdrivers. Elastollan 1190 polyurethane with a spiral that springs back to shape, and extended straight ends.
- with DN 7.2 quick couplings or plain ends
- working length 1 to 13 m
- temperature −40 to +60 °C
Tube cutters
A straight cut on plastic tubing. Special tools for easily cutting plastic tubes and pipes, in plastic and all-metal versions.
- PTM and PTP plastic cutters
- all-metal KTM and KTV for pipes
- spare blades for the cutters
Looking for soft PE tubing, food-grade silicone tubing or a protective spiral for hose bundles? All plastic hoses are sorted by material in one category.

The pressure rating of a tube falls as its diameter grows. The pressure for each size is listed in the parameters of the individual tube.
How to choose and connect tubing
1. Material
For moving lines to cylinders and tools choose flexible polyurethane, for long fixed runs the more rigid polyamide. For chemicals and temperatures above +100 °C go for fluoropolymers.
2. Size
The outer diameter of the tube must match the push-in fitting or connector. Choose the inner diameter by the flow you need.
3. Cut
Shorten the tube with a cutter, square and without burrs. A slanted or frayed end will not seal in a push-in fitting.
4. Push in
Push the tube fully into the fitting and pull it back gently. To release it, press the collet of the fitting and pull the tube out.
Frequently asked questions
- Polyurethane or polyamide?
- Polyurethane is flexible and suits moving and mechanically stressed lines. Polyamide is more rigid, takes higher pressure and temperature and suits longer straight runs.
- Which tube can take the highest temperature?
- PTFE tubing works from −98 to +260 °C and PFA from −60 to +260 °C. For food up to +200 °C there is the SIL silicone tube.
- My tubing runs outdoors – will it stand the sun?
- For outdoor use there is UV-resistant polyurethane tubing made from Elastollan 1198 granulate. Fluoropolymers and PVDF also resist UV well.
- Where does antistatic tubing belong?
- In potentially explosive atmospheres. PA12 ATEX tubing is certified to ATEX II 2 G/D and rated at 15 bar in the 6/4 mm size.
- Is Mebra Plastik the same as Membra Plastic?
- Yes. We used to list the brand as Membra Plastic, but its correct name is Mebra Plastik, after the maker, the Italian company Mebra Plastik Italia of Busto Arsizio. The tubing and its web addresses have stayed the same.
