FUTURA lubricators for ATEX environments up to 16 bar
The FUTURA lubricator adds oil to compressed air as a fine mist. The air then carries it to tools, cylinders and valves that need lubrication.
You set the oil quantity with the dosing screw and check it by counting the drops. The lubricators come in four sizes with G 1/4" to 1" threads and flows up to 16,000 l/min.
Which lubricator to choose
Lubricator in sizes 1 to 4
G 1/4" to 1" threads, flow 2,800 to 16,000 l/min. Filled manually or through a hose during operation.
Micro-lubricator in size 0
The smallest version, G 1/4", with a flow of up to 1,400 l/min and an oil capacity of 35 cm³. Filled manually only.

For more demanding environments. With a sight glass in sizes 1 to 4, without one in size 0. You choose it on the product page.
Sight dome
In the transparent dome you count the drops and set the oil quantity with the dosing screw.

The lubricator only starts adding oil above a certain flow. The “min. flow for oiling” column gives this value at 6 bar. You choose the metal bowl on the product page. Size 0 has a maximum inlet pressure of 12 bar. Size 0 is not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

How to set the oil dose
You set the oil quantity with the dosing screw on the sight dome and check it by counting the drops falling in the dome. As a guide, 1 to 2 drops per minute at a flow of 1,000 l/min are enough. For the size 0 micro-lubricator, it is about 10 to 20 drops per minute.
The lubricator only adds oil above a certain air flow, so it does not drip when little air is drawn. You will find the values for each size in the table.
Filling with oil
Manually: remove the bowl, pour in oil up to the mark and refit the bowl until the catch audibly clicks into place. Top up the oil when the level drops to the lower mark.
Sizes 1 to 4 can also be filled during operation. Connect a hose with a G 1/8" thread to the bottom of the bowl, put the other end into the oil and press the filling button. The lubricator must be under pressure. The hose can stay connected.
The catalogue recommends ISO VG 32 class oil (CL32 to DIN 51517). We offer SOL for temperatures above +5 °C, SOLWI for operation with larger amounts of condensate, for example at temperatures below +5 °C, and the food-grade SOLLE. All three oils also come in 5, 10 and 20 l packs.
Where to place the lubricator
The lubricator goes last in the assembly, after the filter and regulator. Mount it upright only, bowl down, and in the direction of the arrow on the body.
Do not connect anything that needs oil-free air after the lubricator, such as spray guns. For that, take a branch before the lubricator, for example a FUTURA manifold module.
Oil mist is harmful to health. Use the lubricator only in closed pneumatic systems and fit filter silencers on the valve exhausts.
Potentially explosive atmospheres
Lubricators in sizes 1, 2 and 4 are mechanical devices with no ignition source of their own. According to the declaration regarding Directive 2014/34/EU, you can use them in zones 1 and 2 (gases IIA, IIB, IIC) and 21 and 22 (dust IIIA, IIIB), temperature class T4, under the conditions described for the entire FUTURA range. Size 0 is not for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Maintenance
Before putting the lubricator into operation, check the oil level and the dose setting. Clean plastic bowls only with a damp cloth and water or a mild detergent; solvents damage polycarbonate.

Less oil is more. Start at 1 to 2 drops per minute and add more only when the tool runs dry. Surplus oil ends up in the air line and on the workpieces.
- Which oil goes into the lubricator?
- The catalogue recommends ISO VG 32 class oil (CL32 to DIN 51517). For food processing, we offer a food-grade oil.
- How much oil should I set?

- It only adds oil above a certain air flow, for size 1 for example from 90 l/min at 6 bar. That is why it does not drip when little air is drawn.

- In sizes 1 to 4, yes, through a hose with a G 1/8" thread and the filling button. The lubricator must be under pressure. Size 0 is filled manually only.
- Where does the lubricator go in the assembly?
- Last, after the filter and regulator. Take oil-free air before the lubricator.
- Is it suitable for potentially explosive atmospheres?
- Sizes 1, 2 and 4 are, in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 according to the declaration regarding Directive 2014/34/EU. Size 0 is not.
