HFS high-pressure compressed air microfilters up to 50 bar
The HFS microfilter is the finest mechanical stage of the HF range. The coalescing element traps particles larger than 0.01 µm and removes oil down to a residual content below 0.01 mg/m³ — class 1-x-1 according to ISO 8573-1.
The HFS filter comes in 9 sizes with G 1/2" to G 3" threads and flows of 1,183 to 46,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 50 bar. It is one of the stages of the HF high-pressure filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

The size determines the thread and the flow. Each size has its own spare element.

When to use it
The HFS microfilter suits all applications where the air must be very clean of particles and oil. It is also the mandatory stage before HFA activated carbon — only with it does its solid particle class 1 apply.
The HFM fine pre-filter, which traps particles and oil down to 0.1 µm, goes before the HFS microfilter — the microfilter element then lasts longer.

After the HFM fine pre-filter, before HFA activated carbon.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: at 50 bar, 6.38 times as much as at 7 bar.

Element, drain and maintenance
The housing holds a single element, a different one for each size — for example HFS-007V for the HFS-007. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C, pressure up to 50 bar.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. For pressures up to 50 bar, the AOK 50B and AOK 50SS float drains are suitable; they work reliably from 10 bar.
Replace the element at least once a year or at a pressure drop of 350 mbar. The pressure drop is shown by the MDHI 50 differential pressure gauge.

Ventilek’s tip
A microfilter needs a fine pre-filter. Install the HFM fine pre-filter before the HFS microfilter. Activated carbon can then follow the microfilter and only deals with vapours and odours.

- Particles down to 0.01 µm and residual oil below 0.01 mg/m³, class 1-x-1 according to ISO 8573-1.
- What goes before the microfilter?
- The HFM fine pre-filter, so that the microfilter element does not clog so quickly.
- Does it have to go before activated carbon?
- Yes. Solid particle class 1 for HFA activated carbon only applies when an S microfilter is installed before it.
