Black Wind is a Czech brand of tools and accessories for working with compressed air. We offer Black Wind blow guns, spray guns and sandblasting guns, tyre inflators, air tools, hoses, compressor parts and a range of small compressors.

The products are made for DIY users and tradespeople: for the garage, home workshop, car service and paint shop. Most guns, inflators and tools have a DN 7.2 nipple, so they plug straight into a standard quick coupling on the hose or compressor.

Pressure is the maximum working pressure from the product specifications. Set the compressor regulator to suit the part with the lowest rating.

How to connect a gun or tool

1. Compare air use

Air consumption is listed in the specifications of every product. Compare it with the compressor’s free air delivery, the air the machine actually supplies, not with its intake capacity.

2. Set the pressure

Use the regulator on the compressor to set the pressure for the product: Black Wind air tools work at 6.3 bar, HVLP and LVLP spray guns from 2 bar.

3. Connect

Most guns and tools have a DN 7.2 nipple that fits a standard quick coupling. ABGP guns have a 1/4" female thread, so you screw in a nipple separately.

4. After work

Clean the spray gun straight away with a cleaner suited to the type of paint. Drain the condensate from the compressor and check the oil sight glass on oil-lubricated machines.

Frequently asked questions

What compressor do I need for a spray gun?
It depends on the gun’s air consumption. The SGH1002 LVLP gun uses 150 l/min, the SGHX100 APS gun 200 to 400 l/min and the SGM502 for an external tank 350 to 450 l/min. For occasional spraying of small items a 24 l tank is enough; for larger surfaces plan on 50 l.
What is the difference between HVLP, LVLP and APS?
HVLP works with a high volume of air at low pressure and saves paint. LVLP atomises paint finely with lower air consumption, so it suits smaller compressors. APS has the benefits of HVLP but works at a higher pressure and handles thicker paints.
Which tyre inflators are certified?
The TG-63C, TG-63D, TG-80C and TG-80DC are certified to EN 12645:2014. Models with a D have a twin chuck on an extension for dual truck wheels; the TG-80C and TG-80DC come with a test report.
How do I change the nozzle of a blow gun?
Nozzles on ABG, ABGP and ABG03 guns screw in with a G 1/4" thread. Unscrew the old nozzle and tighten the new one. For ABG guns we offer spare nozzles of 30, 100 and 300 mm.
What is the BW-0002 pressure switch for?
It switches the compressor motor on and off according to the pressure in the tank. From the factory it cuts in at 6 bar and cuts out at 8 bar, withstands up to 12 bar and is for single-phase 230 V motors up to 15 A. If the switch fails to cut out, the BW-0008 or BW-0009 safety valve protects the tank.
How often should I change the oil and intake filter?
The original BWL-1 mineral oil is changed once a year or every 100 operating hours, whichever comes first. Black Wind intake filters have the same interval; change them more often in a dusty workshop.

Service and original spare parts for Black Wind compressors are available in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. An operating manual and a catalogue sheet in Czech can be downloaded with every Black Wind compressor. Pressures and air consumption in this text come from the specifications of the individual products.
