Small Black Wind compressors for a standard socket

Nine machines from 0.75 to 2.2 kW with a 6–50 litre tank, all running from a standard 230 V socket and all in stock. The brand was created by the Czech company VSK Profi, which has worked with compressed air since 1998 and gives the pressure tank a 10-year warranty against rust-through. The cheapest machine in the range is the oil-free BO-0.75-6PM.
Choosing a small compressor: three questions
Nine machines, but only three things decide. Answer them in this order and one, at most two, remain.
What will you use it for?
For inflating tyres and wheels, blowing off and cleaning, a 6-litre tank is enough — the machine fits in the boot and weighs 15 kg. A blow gun, a stapler or occasional spray work needs 24 litres. A spray gun for a fence, a nail gun and longer work without waiting for pressure mean 50 litres.
Oil-free or oil-lubricated?
The oil-free BO range needs no oil maintenance at all and lets no oil particles into the air — for inflating, blowing off and spraying small things it is the cleaner choice, and the machine is lighter. The oil-lubricated BL, BV and BB ranges have a lubricated cylinder that withstands longer work, and a litre of air comes out cheaper. Whoever starts the compressor once a month takes a BO; whoever starts it every weekend takes an oil-lubricated one.
Direct or belt drive?
Seven of the nine machines have the pump unit mounted directly on the motor — simple, cheap, 2,850 rpm. The BB model has a V-belt and a cast-iron pump at 1,050 rpm: it runs slower, quieter, holds 10 bar instead of 8 and has an aftercooler. It costs more than the other two together, but it is the only machine in the range worth running every day.

Air displacement is the manufacturer's figure from the 09/2025 catalogue. Noise Lwp is the sound pressure at 4 m — what you hear; Lwa (sound power) is 20 dB higher on every machine and is listed in the product parameters.

Four designs in one range
BO — oil-free with a protective frame
Two pump units on one motor, without oil. A tubular frame protects the machine in transport and serves as a handle. The smallest model has 56 dB at 4 m — the level of normal conversation, you can run it in the evening in a flat. Three models: 0.75 kW with 6 l, 1.5 kW with 6 l and 1.5 kW with 24 l.
BL — oil-lubricated single cylinder
One oil-lubricated cylinder, a finned discharge pipe that carries heat away and a sight glass from which you read the oil level without unscrewing anything. Pleated paper intake filter. Three models: 1.5 kW with 24 l, 1.5 kW with 50 l and 1.8 kW with 50 l — the cheapest oil-lubricated machine in the range is the BL-1.5-24CM.
BV — oil-lubricated V-twin
Two cylinders in a V give 356 l/min — the most in the whole range — at 2.2 kW and 8 bar. Still direct drive, still a standard socket. This is the choice for someone who wants to connect a spray gun to 50 litres and not wait for pressure.
BB — belt-driven with a cast-iron pump
A V-belt slows the pump to 1,050 rpm, the cast-iron block holds 10 bar, the aftercooler lowers the temperature of the outgoing air and the motor has thermal protection. At 4 m 71 dB, 6 dB quieter than the other oil-lubricated models. The only machine in the range for regular work.

What is inside
Spare parts in stock
A cheap compressor only makes sense if you do not throw it away after two years. For Black Wind machines we keep original parts — oil, intake filters, pressure switches, safety valves and the drain valve. Replacing the filter and oil is ten minutes' work without special tools.
When a small compressor is not enough
Black Wind is built for occasional work — the S3 25 % duty means a quarter of an hour of work in every hour. Whoever will start the compressor every day or wants to connect a grinder and an impact wrench needs the next level up. The whole range with filters by power, tank and voltage is among all compressors.

Buying a compressor for inflating and blowing off? Take the smallest BO and do not pay for litres you will never use. A 6-litre tank fills in a few dozen seconds and for topping up wheels, tyres and an air mattress you have more than enough. When you want to spray a fence, come for a fifty — but not before. The most expensive mistake with small compressors is buying a big one "just in case" and then dragging it around the garage.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a small compressor enough for inflating tyres and blowing off?
- Yes, with room to spare. For topping up a car or bicycle tyre even the smallest BO-0.75-6PM with a 6-litre tank is enough — it fills in a few dozen seconds, and with the inflating gun you set the exact pressure. For blowing sawdust out of the workshop or dust out of a computer, a blow gun and any machine in the range will do.
- Can it be plugged into a standard socket?
- All nine machines run on 230 V / 50 Hz, i.e. from a standard household socket. The most powerful BV and BB models have 2.2 kW — still fine on a 16 A breaker, but do not run them through a long thin extension lead, the motor then gets too little voltage and heats up.
- Oil-free or oil-lubricated — which is better for the home?
- For inflating, blowing off and occasional spraying of small things, oil-free: no oil maintenance, no oil in the air, a lighter machine. For regular work with tools, oil-lubricated: the lubricated cylinder withstands longer work and a litre of air is cheaper. The oil is changed roughly once a season.
- How many litres of tank do I need for a spray gun?
- Fifty. A spray gun draws air continuously and from a 6-litre tank the pressure would drop after a few seconds — the machine would run non-stop and overheat in S3 25 % duty. The BV-2.2-50CM with 356 l/min is the best in the range for it; for small things the BL-1.5-50CM is enough too.
- What does "S3 25 %" mean?
- Intermittent duty: the machine may work a quarter of an hour in every hour and cools for the rest. In normal home use you will never notice — the compressor switches itself off at pressure and on again when it drops. Whoever needs non-stop work is a level higher, in ranges built for S1.
- What is the warranty like?
- Two years on the machine and 10 years against rust-through of the pressure tank — that is the manufacturer's warranty, not our discount. The condition is regular draining of condensate through the valve on the bottom of the tank; on oil-lubricated machines also the oil change. We keep the original parts for it in stock.
Air displacement is the manufacturer's figure from the 09/2025 catalogue; it gives the intake volume, the actual delivered volume is lower on piston compressors of this class. Noise Lwa is sound power, Lwp sound pressure at 4 m. Prices refer to the current offer; stock changes daily.
