Oil-free air compressors
An oil-free compressor compresses air with no oil in the compression chamber, so oil mist has no way of getting into the hose. Our range includes 121 such machines — small plug-in piston units, dental and medical compressors, scroll compressors and large screw compressors up to 280 kW.

Where oil-free air is a must
Wherever the air touches food, medicines or a patient: in kitchens and beverage operations, in surgeries and laboratories, and when painting sensitive surfaces. An oil-lubricated machine would need fine filtration there, and that filtration would need monitoring; an oil-free machine has no need of it in that respect. Moisture and dust from the intake air still have to be filtered out, though — how to do it is described in our guide How to filter compressed air.
What you will find in our range
Oil-free piston compressors
Sixty-eight machines from 0.34 to 7.5 kW, 42 of them for a 230 V socket. Most are belt-driven ABAC Expert Zero workshop machines, joined by the industrial ABAC Tech ATF and ATFS, the small Black Wind and Super Silent OS, and the Suitcase in its carry case. The smallest is the Silent Mini AP50 with 0.34 kW and 27 l/min. Of the 121 oil-free machines, 75 sit in a soundproof cabinet or under an acoustic cover, so they can stand close to a workstation.
For surgeries and laboratories
Fourteen Clean Air CLR dental compressors and six CNR medical units with 5.5 and 7.5 kW, base-mounted or on a 270 or 500 l tank; the largest CNR gives 930 l/min, the most of all our oil-free piston machines. Seven CLR machines have a built-in dryer, so the dental unit gets dry air as well — you will find them all among our dental compressors.
Scroll and screw compressors
Twenty-one SCR-XA scroll compressors from 2.2 to 29.6 kW for smaller operations that need oil-free air around the clock, and 32 oil-free SCR screw compressors from 37 to 280 kW with an output of up to 47,000 l/min, 17 of them with an inverter. Both the scroll and the oil-free screw machines come without a tank, and the air tank is chosen to match consumption. For a closer look at the scroll machines, see our page on scroll compressors.
Oil-free does not mean maintenance-free
On an oil-free machine there is no oil to check or change. Valves, seals and air filters do wear, however; their replacement intervals are given in the machine’s manual. Oil-lubricated or oil-free?
