Quiet oil-free ABAC Super Silent OS compressors
oil-free · 63–65 dB at 4 m · 6 to 50 lA quiet compressor that needs neither an acoustic enclosure nor oil. The Super Silent OS pump has two pistons either side of a slow-running motor at 1,420 rpm — at 4 m from the machine you measure 63 to 65 dB, roughly the level of normal conversation. The six-litre machines with 0.55 to 1.5 kW are carried by the frame handle, the twenty rolls along like a sack truck, the twenty-four and the fifty ride on wheels; all of them draw in 140 to 230 l/min from an ordinary socket and deliver oil-free air. Which Super Silent OS — three pumps, four tanks
They are all quiet: 83 or 85 dB Lwa, 63 or 65 dB at 4 m. You choose the pump power and the tank — and with it the way you move the machine about.
The six for one hand: OS7P, OS10P or OS20P
Three machines in the same tubular frame with a handle, 17 to 19 kg, a 6 l tank and a switch set to 8 bar. They differ in the pump: the OS7P with 0.55 kW draws in 140 l/min and is enough for inflating, blowing off, stapling and airbrush work; the OS20P with 1.5 kW gives 230 l/min and copes with a nailer firing in quick succession or a decorating spray gun. The OS10P with 0.75 kW and 165 l/min sits between them — the last one in stock.
The twenty as a sack truck: OS20P-1.5-20RM
The 20 l tank sits under the pump in a frame on two wheels, with the gauge panel at the top by the handle. You wheel the machine like a sack truck over thresholds, along the corridor and into the lift; at work it stands on a small footprint, and 20 l gives the 1.5 kW pump calmer cycles than the six. Switch set to 9 bar, 33 kg.
The twenty-four and the fifty on wheels: OS20P-1.5-24CM and 50CM
A horizontal tank on two wheels with a handle, the same 1.5 kW pump with 230 l/min, switch set to 9 bar. The twenty-four weighs 24 kg and one person lifts it into the car; the fifty weighs 32 kg and has the biggest reserve in the range — for a studio or a workshop where the machine has its own spot and the tools draw air for longer at a stretch.

How quiet the Super Silent OS is
The quiet here does not come from an acoustic enclosure but from the design of the pump: two small pistons instead of one big one, 1,420 rpm instead of the usual 2,850, and a cover that encloses the pump.
83 and 85 dB Lwa
Lwa is the sound power level — the total noise the machine radiates, regardless of where you stand. The OS7P and OS10P pumps have 83 dB, the OS20P 85 dB. The oil-lubricated single and twin cylinders of the ABAC Line range have 95 to 97 dB Lwa; the ear hears a difference of ten decibels as roughly half the loudness.
63 and 65 dB at 4 m
Four metres from the machine you measure 63 dB with the OS7P and OS10P sixes and 65 dB with the OS20P pumps. That is the level of normal conversation: in a shop during opening hours, in the office next door or in a block of flats you can hear the compressor, but you do not have to shout over it. Right next to the machine the noise is higher, as with any compressor.
Where the quiet comes from
A slow-running motor in the middle and one piston on each side: lower speed and the work split between two smaller cylinders quieten the pump enough for the machine to do without an acoustic enclosure. The pump is also enclosed in a cover that damps the noise and keeps hands away from hot and moving parts, and rubber feet stop vibration going into the floor. The oil-free Teflon-coated cylinders need no lubrication and the intake filter is recessed into the cover.

The OS7P, OS10P and OS20P pump
The motor sits in the middle with a piston and cylinder on each side, all under one enclosed cover with a ventilation grille. The cylinders are Teflon-coated, so there is nothing to top up and no oil in the air. Three power ratings: OS7P 0.55 kW and 140 l/min, OS10P 0.75 kW and 165 l/min, OS20P 1.5 kW and 230 l/min.
Direct drive, 1,420 rpm
Both cylinders are driven directly by the motor shaft — no belt, no tensioning, nothing to replace. The single-phase 230 V / 50 Hz motor runs at half the speed of ordinary direct-drive single cylinders, hence the calm. The machine is built for intermittent duty: the tank and the pressure switch give it its pauses, not a continuous draw.
Switch, regulator, two gauges
The pressure switch with a start button starts the machine, cuts out at 8 or 9 bar and cuts back in when the pressure drops. The regulator sets the outlet pressure for the tool, one gauge shows tank pressure, the other outlet pressure; the air leaves through a DN 7.2 quick coupling — the same standard as the hoses and guns across our whole range.
Tanks of 6, 20, 24 and 50 l
The sixes sit in a tubular frame on rubber feet: the extended handle protects the panel and the machine is carried in one hand. The twenty has its tank under the pump in a sack-truck frame on two wheels. The twenty-four and the fifty are horizontal tanks on two wheels with a rubber foot and a handle. All of them have a condensate drain valve underneath and a QR code for the AirTube app.

At home, next to family and neighbours
Inflating, blowing off, stapling, airbrush and decorative spraying — where family or neighbours live on the other side of the wall. The six lives in the cupboard and comes out for half an hour; the twenty-four in the corner of a studio holds a reserve for longer decorative spraying and cycles calmly.
A tradesman in an occupied building
A kitchen fitter, a floor layer, an upholsterer, a decorator or a service engineer works in flats, offices and shops during opening hours. The six rides in the boot of the car and is carried in one hand, the twenty goes through the door like a sack truck; nobody has to close the shop because of the compressor.
Where the OS is no longer enough
An impact wrench on wheel nuts, a random orbital sander and spraying a whole car want more than 230 l/min and a continuous draw — for those there are the oil-lubricated single and twin cylinders of the Line range. A surgery or a laboratory wants oil-free air with a dryer — that is the Clean Air range. The OS is a machine for quiet and clean air in bursts.
Accessories and service
With no oil there is no level to check and no oil change — what is left is draining the condensate after work and changing the intake filter element now and then. The DN 7.2 quick coupling is the same standard as the hoses, guns and tools across our whole range. Decibels do not add up like kilos — ten dB less is half the loudness, and that is exactly what this is about. Sixty-three to sixty-five decibels at four metres is a conversation, not a machine. If you work in an occupied building, in a shop during opening hours or in a studio next to the family, you will value the Super Silent OS more than every extra bar. If you sand and spray cars, look at the oil-lubricated single and twin cylinders — that is where the air is, this is where the quiet is.

- For inflating, blowing off, stapling and airbrush work a six is enough: the OS7P with 0.55 kW and 140 l/min, or the OS20P-1.5-6RM with 1.5 kW if you want a nailer firing in quick succession as well. If you spray with a decorating gun for longer at a stretch or use a ratchet wrench, take the twenty-four or the fifty — the reserve in the tank gives the pump its pauses. - The oil-free OS pump has Teflon-coated cylinders: there is nothing to top up, there is no oil in the air and the sixes in their frame can even be transported lying down. It is built for occasional and intermittent operation — inflating, stapling, spraying in bursts; if you draw air all day at a stretch, reach for an oil-lubricated pump, which copes with that better. - Is it suitable for airbrush, decorative spraying and small paint jobs?
- Yes — oil-free air is an advantage for paint, because there is no oil mist in it. An airbrush and a small decorating gun run from a six with a regulator; for longer spraying with a decorating gun take the twenty-four or the fifty and fit a regulator with a condensate filter before the gun. Spraying a whole car wants more air than 230 l/min gives — what you need for that is explained in our article on spraying with a compressor.
- Can I use it in a surgery, a laboratory or in food production?
- Oil-free air, yes, but the machine has no dryer or filtration and is not intended for medical environments — a surgery or a laboratory needs an oil-free compressor with a dryer and filters, such as you will find among Clean Air dental compressors. The Super Silent OS is a machine for the workshop, the studio, the shop and the home, where quiet and clean air for the tools are what matter.

- The Super Silent OS is quiet thanks to the design of the pump — two pistons and 1,420 rpm — and does without an acoustic enclosure; these are oil-free machines of 6 to 50 l for air in bursts. The Silent range means oil-lubricated pumps with more output housed in an acoustic enclosure, built for all-day work in the workshop. If you need quiet and a continuous draw, it is the Silent range; if you need quiet, clean air and a machine you can carry, it is the OS. - Which tank: 6, 20, 24 or 50 litres — and what do RM and CM mean?
- Six litres is enough for tools that take air in bursts: a stapler, a tyre inflator, a blow gun, an airbrush. Twenty, twenty-four and fifty litres give the pump longer pauses — for a decorating gun, a ratchet wrench and longer blowing off. RM denotes the machines in a tubular frame (the sixes and the twenty as a sack truck), CM the machines with a horizontal tank on wheels and no frame. Twenty-litre machines from other brands are among portable compressors with a 20 l tank.
- Why do the sixes have 8 bar and the bigger machines 9 bar?
- The sixes cut out at 8 bar: for a stapler, a tyre inflator, a blow gun and an airbrush, which work at 2 to 8 bar, that is enough, and the small tank fills quickly. The twenty, the twenty-four and the fifty go to 9 bar — the bigger tank holds a reserve and the extra bar is headroom for a longer hose or a ratchet wrench. Machines with 8 bar across brands are among 8 bar compressors.
