230 V air compressors
There are 105 compressors for a 230 V socket — from a 0.34 kW mini machine you can carry in one hand to 3 kW workshop machines on wheels. They need no three-phase supply; a single phase, however, cannot cope with a motor more powerful than 3 kW.

What you will find for 230 V
Mini and small compressors
Ten portable machines are carried by a handle: the Suitcase in its carry case, at 5 kg without a tank, the Silent Mini with 0.34 kW, and the Black Wind and Super Silent OS with a 6 l tank. They suit inflating, blowing off and staplers — more are among our portable air compressors with a 6 litre tank. For occasional work in the garage, the machines to look at are our hobby compressors.
Workshop machines
Seventy-three machines have wheels and a tank of 3 to 270 l, more than half of them with a V-belt that slows the pump down and lets it run for longer. Another twenty-two machines are stationary, mostly Clean Air dental units. The most air comes from the cast-iron WALTER WK430 and VWK430 with 2.2 kW: 340 l/min; the heaviest is the ABAC A39B on a 270 l tank, at 248 kg. There are 68 machines at 10 bar and 29 at 8 bar. Five two-stage ABAC A49B machines reach 11 bar with an output of 333 l/min — the highest pressure in our 230 V range.
Oil-free and soundproofed
Forty-two machines are oil-free — the Clean Air dental units, the Expert Zero workshop machines and the small Black Wind and Super Silent OS. Twenty-six are soundproofed; the lowest-noise model is the Silent Mini at 43 dB at four metres — for an overview, see soundproofed air compressors.
When 230 V is no longer enough
When you need more than 340 l/min, or long running with a motor above 3 kW. Three-phase piston machines go up to 15 kW and 1,864 l/min, and screw machines higher still. That is when they take over — you will find them among our 400 V air compressors. Machines for both voltages are together in our overview of air compressors.

- One: the SPD-2,2/10CW-90 with 2.2 kW, a 90 l tank and an output of 272 l/min, soundproofed in a cabinet. All other screw machines need 400 V.
- What is the most powerful compressor for a 230 V socket?
- By motor power, the oil-free ABAC Tech ATFS-3 with 3 kW. The most air, 340 l/min, comes from the cast-iron WALTER WK430 and VWK430 with 2.2 kW.
