The WK430-3,0/100AP is the most balanced combination of all 5 WALTER series models that can be connected to a standard single-phase network. The all-cast-iron 2V twin-cylinder unit has a power input of 2.2 kW, intake of 420 l/min, and an effective delivery of 340 l/min at 10 bar, with an operating speed of 1,276 rpm. - A 2.2 kW motor on 230 V has a high starting current, so it requires its own circuit, a slow-characteristic circuit breaker (usually 16 A, char. C) and a supply line dimensioned according to its length. The exact value can be found in the machine manual, and you should leave the installation to an electrician. Do not use an extension lead on a reel — a coiled cable heats up and the voltage drop can prevent the motor from starting.
- Why 100 l instead of 50?
- Due to the number of starts. A 100 l tank provides approximately 200 litres of free air per cycle at a pressure differential of 2 bar; thus, at a consumption of 150 l/min, the motor starts roughly 25 times per hour, compared to 50 times for the 50 l version. For a single-phase machine, this is the most effective way to extend its service life. The performance remains unchanged — both versions deliver 340 l/min.
- Why does my circuit breaker trip during painting?
- Because during continuous spraying, the machine runs almost non-stop and starts with a warm motor. An HVLP gun consumes 250 to 400 l/min continuously, while the machine delivers 340 l/min — this works for more efficient guns, but with more demanding ones, the pressure drops and the compressor stops cycling. The solution is not a more powerful circuit breaker, but lower consumption or a machine in the 3.0 to 4.0 kW class with a larger tank; however, such a model is not available in this 230 V range.
- Can I leave it running all day?
