Product detailed description
WALTER WK430-3.0/200AP cast-iron piston compressor
The WK430-3.0/200AP is the largest compressor in the WALTER range available for a standard single-phase network. The all-cast iron 2V twin-cylinder with a power input of 2.2 kW has an intake of 420 l/min and delivers 340 l/min of effective delivery at 10 bar, with a pump speed of 1,276 rpm. The horizontal air receiver has a capacity of 200 l, power supply 230 V / 50 Hz, noise level approx. 80 dB(A), and a 3-year warranty after registration at waltercesko.cz.
Those without a three-phase connection face a power ceiling defined by a single 2.2 kW platform — and the only variable remaining to influence is the tank size. This model is that ceiling: a 200 l reserve is the maximum installed on a 230V machine in this range. It is ideal for applications where tools draw air in short, high-volume bursts, with time between operations for the system to recharge.
Configuration of this machine
Why choose this model
Within the 28-model range, only 5 machines are available for 230 V, and all are based on the same 2.2 kW unit. You are not choosing power, but capacity — and 200 l is the highest available value here. Higher power necessitates a 400 V connection; there is no other way.
Filling an empty 200 l tank from zero to 10 bar takes approximately 5.9 minutes based on manufacturer parameters — the longest time among all 230V models in the range. During the day, the machine only re-pressurises by 2 bar, which takes tens of seconds. The second advantage of a large tank is evident during intermittent work: after the morning pressurisation, it maintains pressure for several hours if the distribution system is airtight.
At a continuous draw of 150 l/min, there are approximately 13 starts per hour, compared to 25 for the 100 l version and 50 for the 50 l version. For a single-phase motor, where the entire starting current passes through one circuit, a lower number of starts is the best possible scenario for both the machine and the electrical installation.
The unit is all-cast iron, featuring a machinable cylinder liner and replaceable rings. The bleed valve relieves the cylinder head upon stopping, ensuring the motor starts next time without back-pressure in the delivery line — a lower starting current is critical for 230V machines to prevent the circuit breaker from tripping.
Design and technology

Piston, rings and cast-iron liner
The cast-iron cylinder liner and piston rings are standard service parts — the unit can be refurbished after years of use rather than discarded.

Intake filter with steel mesh
The new generation metal insert withstands repeated blowing out with compressed air, whereas a paper insert would tear after a few cleanings.

Head gaskets and valves
The redesigned cylinder head gaskets maintain pressure even after thermal cycles; valve plates are stocked as spare parts.

Inspection on a 3D measuring machine
Key dimensions of the unit are verified on a coordinate measuring machine — this ensures that parts from different series fit together perfectly.

What the data sheet doesn't tell you — calculated values
Values are calculated from manufacturer parameters and serve for comparing models with each other, not as a guaranteed figure.
Who is it for
This is purchased by workshops or services that remain on a single-phase electrical installation but have long since outgrown a hobby compressor: garage auto services with regular tyre changes, installation companies with fixed premises, small joineries, or agricultural and gardening operations. The machine is placed in position and connected to the distribution network. Anyone requiring a continuous delivery of over 340 l/min or simultaneous use by two people must opt for a 400 V connection — there are no further options available in the single-phase range.
Typical applications
- Tyre changes and 1/2" impact wrenches in garage workshops with pauses between wheels
- Underbody preservation and cavity spraying on a smaller scale
- Winterising equipment and blowing out water pipes
- Inflating tyres, including larger commercial vehicle dimensions
- Pneumatic ratchets and drills during disassembly
- Blowing and cleaning parts before painting or gluing
Where to choose a different model
Tank capacity does not solve this problem; the output must increase — which necessitates a 400 V connection. The next step is a 3.0 kW three-cylinder platform with 440 l/min; with the same 200 l tank, you get the same reserve and a performance increase of 100 litres per minute.
View recommended model →The vertical VWK430-3,0/90AP also runs on 230 V and occupies roughly half the floor space. However, it has less than half the reserve, so expect significantly more frequent motor starts.
View recommended model →The WK430-3,0/200P version is mechanically the same machine, designed for 400 V. The starting current is split across three phases, eliminating the requirement for a dedicated circuit and opening the way to more powerful machines in the range should operations expand.

Inspections may be carried out by an authorised WALTER service centre or by yourself — provided that original parts and fluids are used and proof of purchase is retained.
3 year WALTER warranty

36 months after registration at waltercesko.cz
The warranty is provided by Walter Kompressortechnik Česko s.r.o. (Ostrava). Machine registration extends the warranty to 36 months from the date of purchase; proof of purchase is required to claim the warranty.
- Claim assessment within 14 working days, approved repairs free of charge and completed within 30 days
- After 4 repairs and a further defect, you are entitled to a replacement of the machine with a fault-free one
- You may perform the prescribed inspections yourself — using original parts and providing proof of purchase
Transport and Commissioning
The machine is delivered on a pallet. Before the first start, check the oil level, direction of rotation, and the tightness of connections; after the first 8 hours of operation, tighten the cylinder head bolts to a torque of 25 Nm. Leave the electrical connection to a professional — especially for single-phase machines: they require a dedicated circuit and a circuit breaker with a slow characteristic.
