200 litre air compressors
Two worlds meet on a two-hundred-litre tank: belt-driven twin-cylinder piston machines and compact screw compressors that combine tank, dryer and controls in one unit. Piston machines are in the majority and seven of them run from a 230 V socket; the screw compressors are 400 V and can run all day.

Piston or screw 200 litre air compressor
A piston compressor fills the tank and switches off — it suits intermittent use, where work alternates with breaks. A screw compressor runs for long periods without stopping, and stop-start running does not suit it. That is the basis for choosing: piston for a workshop or tyre shop with bursts of demand, screw for production or all-day operation. The differences are covered in detail in our comparison of screw and piston compressors.
Screw compressors on 200 l
Most screw machines, from 2.2 to 7.5 kW, come from the ABAC SPINN, some with an inverter that adapts motor speed to demand. Six machines are from the SCR-APM Mini series. Most screw compressors on 200 l have a built-in dryer, so they supply dry air straight away.
Piston compressors on 200 l
Soundproofed ABAC Silent, oil-free Expert Zero, cast-iron WALTER and the belt-driven twin-cylinder machines of the ABAC Pro Line. Seven machines with 2.2 kW and 208 to 340 l/min run from a 230 V socket; the rest need 400 V. The four Expert Zero machines are the oil-free ones.
How much air a two-hundred-litre tank holds
Between cutting out at 10 bar and cutting in at around 6.5 bar, the tank provides roughly 700 litres of air. A piston machine therefore rests longer between uses and starts less often; with a screw compressor the tank smooths out pressure fluctuations in the pipework. Condensate that collects in the tank must be drained regularly, by hand or with a condensate drain.
If you only want an air tank without a compressor, for instance as a second tank in your pipework, you will find it among our 200 l pressure tanks.
Neighbouring sizes
If a smaller reserve will do and you want more choice for 230 V, take a look at 150 litre air compressors. All sizes, from portable to industrial, are in our overview of air compressors.
Frequently asked questions
- Is a piston or a screw 200 l compressor better?
- Piston for intermittent use and bursts of demand, screw for long continuous running. Frequent stopping does not suit a screw compressor; long non-stop running does not suit a piston one.
- Is there a 200 l compressor for 230 V?
- Yes, seven piston machines with 2.2 kW. Screw compressors with a 200 l tank are all 400 V.
- Are 200 l compressors oil-free?
- Four ABAC Expert Zero piston machines are oil-free. The rest are oil-lubricated — their air needs filtering for spray painting or food production.

List of products
Compressor, dryer and 200 l receiver on one frame in 0.82 m². The entry 3-in-1 package delivering 320 l/min, with no assembly certification needed.
A three-cylinder unit with a large tank for a workshop where two people work in turns. The 440 l/min air delivery keeps the reserve topped up, so the motor switches on less...
Compressor, a 200 l receiver and a refrigerant dryer in one unit. Dry air with a +5 °C dew point right at the outlet, with nothing extra in the line. Output 498 l/min, noise 60...
The smallest in the SPINN Mini range and the cheapest way to leave a piston compressor behind in your workshop. The 2.2 kW motor delivers 294 l/min at 10 bar, that is 17.7 m³/h...
The choice for a workshop that has outgrown the entry model. The three-kilowatt motor delivers 366 l/min at 10 bar — a quarter more air than the SPM-2,2, yet the noise stays at...
The first model in the range that can handle tools drawing air continuously — grinders, sandblasting guns, longer blasting jobs. The four-kilowatt motor delivers 516 l/min at 10...
The most powerful machine in the SPINN Mini range: 780 l/min at 10 bar, which is 2.65 times the output of the entry model. It handles a spray gun and several workstations at...
The smallest machine at the top equipment level. It turns down to 130 l/min and up to 320, yet does everything the larger assemblies do — two-stage filtration, automatic...
The middle machine at the top equipment level. A 200–510 l/min range covers a workshop with several stations, and adds two-stage filtration, automatic condensate drainage and a...
The largest tank the range offers for a standard socket: for a workshop without three-phase power where air is drawn in bursts, but in large amounts. The 340 l/min air delivery...
A small unit with a large tank for a workshop with intermittent but heavy air demand: the reserve holds the pressure for longer than the 340 l/min air delivery alone could keep...
A two-hundred-litre tank on wheels. The largest reserve of air among the wheeled machines.
The most powerful 3-in-1 package without filtration — 696 l/min, dryer and 200 l receiver. Twice the entry 3 kW on the same footprint.
The most complete package in the range — 848 l/min, a 200 l receiver and a built-in refrigerant dryer with a +5 °C dew point. Dry air for the spray booth and for plasma from a...
The most popular package in the range: a rotary screw compressor with a two-hundred-litre receiver. 498 l/min at 10 bar feeds two or three air tools at once. The variable speed...
The same machine on a two-hundred-litre vessel: 272 l/min at 10 bar, noise 59 dB(A). The bigger air reserve covers a full day of demand without the compressor cutting in...
The smallest in the range with a variable speed drive. It regulates steplessly from 131 to 293 l/min, so it makes only as much air as you are drawing. 200 l receiver,...
The 3 kW regulates from 139 to 360 l/min and still stays at 57 dB(A) like the smallest model. 67 l/min more at the top for the same noise. 200 l receiver and refrigerant dryer.
The 4 kW regulates from 270 to 503 l/min at 58 dB(A). It feeds two or three pneumatic tools at once and drops back when demand falls instead of idling. 200 l receiver with dryer.
The strongest in the range. It regulates from 337 to 757 l/min, the widest range of all four models. It feeds several workstations at once. 200 l receiver, refrigerant dryer, 61...
A seven-and-a-half kilowatt rotary screw compressor with a two-hundred-litre receiver. 848 l/min at 10 bar feeds four or five air tools at once. It handles continuous duty with...
The top equipment level and the largest machine. To the 3-in-1 assembly it adds two-stage filtration and automatic condensate handling — class 1-4-1 air to ISO 8573-1 and a...
