Product detailed description
WALTER WK430-3,0/200P Cast Iron Piston Compressor
The WK430-3,0/200P features the largest tank that WALTER builds on its entry-level 2.2 kW cast iron platform. The 2V twin-cylinder intake is 420 l/min, delivering 340 l/min to the distribution system at 10 bar, running at 1,276 rpm. It features a 200 l horizontal air receiver, three-phase 400 V / 50 Hz power supply, noise levels of approx. 80 dB(A) according to manufacturer methodology, and a 3-year warranty upon registration at waltercesko.cz.
This model is not purchased for its power — which is the same as the 50 l version — but for its reserve. 200 l provides 400 litres of free air per cycle, creating a reserve that allows the machine to drive tools with a peak consumption higher than its own displacement. This configuration is designed for workshops where the compressor is permanently stationed and operation is conducted via a distribution system, rather than a hose connected directly to the machine.
Configuration of this machine
Why choose this model
400 litres of free air per cycle means approximately 13 starts per hour at a constant consumption of 150 l/min. The 50 l version on the same unit starts approximately 50×, while the 100 l version starts roughly 25×. Those seeking the longest possible service life from this class should opt for the 200 l tank.
A 1/2" impact wrench can temporarily draw up to 400 l/min, which is 60 l/min more than the unit delivers. The 200 l reserve covers this difference for approximately 6.7 minutes of continuous work — compared to 3.3 minutes with a 100 l tank and only 1.7 with a 50 l tank. This is the primary reason to choose the largest tank.
A 200 l tank with a 420 l/min intake provides 0.47 litres of tank capacity per 1 l/min, placing it at the upper end of the recommended range of 0.3 to 0.5 (130 to 215 l for this unit). The unit cannot reasonably fill a larger tank: filling from zero to 10 bar takes 5.9 minutes based on manufacturer parameters.
Although this model includes wheels and a handle, the 200 l tank is practically positioned on-site and connected to a distribution system with a ball valve and quick-coupling. This configuration ensures the machine remains undisturbed, with efficient cooling and easy access to the condensate drain — while mitigating the impact of 80 dB(A) noise in the centre of the workshop.
Design and technology

Piston, rings and cast-iron liner
The cast-iron cylinder liner and piston rings are standard service parts — the unit can be refurbished after years of use rather than discarded.

Intake filter with steel mesh
The new generation metal insert withstands repeated blowing out with compressed air, whereas a paper insert would tear after a few cleanings.

Head gaskets and valves
The redesigned cylinder head gaskets maintain pressure even after thermal cycles; valve plates are stocked as spare parts.

Inspection on a 3D measuring machine
Key dimensions of the unit are verified on a coordinate measuring machine — this ensures that parts from different series fit together perfectly.

What the data sheet doesn't tell you — calculated values
Values are calculated from manufacturer parameters and serve for comparing models with each other, not as a guaranteed figure.
Who is it for
Suitable for small-scale metalworking, locksmiths, joinery or garages where the compressor is permanently installed and air is distributed via piping to one, or maximum two, non-simultaneous outlets. Typical profile: tools with high peak but short duration consumption — impact wrenches, blow guns, staplers, tyre inflation. For two people working simultaneously or for continuous grinding and painting, even a 200 l tank is insufficient; in such cases, displacement, not reserve, is the decisive factor.
Typical applications
- 1/2" impact wrench for series connections with short intervals
- Blow guns and cleaning of workpieces in metal fabrication
- Staplers, nailers and pneumatic drills in joinery
- Tyre inflation and pressure tests in service centres
- Pneumatic clamping and simple fixtures in production
- Powering a fixed air distribution system with multiple outlets for non-simultaneous use
Where to choose a different model
The reserve only handles peaks. If your tool consumes more than 340 l/min continuously, no tank can fix it — you need a higher delivery rate. The 3.0 kW three-cylinder platform delivers 440 l/min at lower 1,202 rpm and, with the same 200 l tank, is the direct successor to this machine.
View recommended model →The 200 l tank is practically stationary in this class. If you need to move the machine to the job, choose the WK430-3,0/100P version: it has half the reserve, but it is a completely different machine in terms of dimensions.
View recommended model →The WK430-3,0/200AP is the same configuration on standard 230 V. Prepare for a dedicated circuit, a slow-blow circuit breaker, and a supply cable dimensioned according to the line length.

Inspections may be carried out by an authorised WALTER service centre or by yourself — provided that original parts and fluids are used and proof of purchase is retained.
3 year WALTER warranty

36 months after registration at waltercesko.cz
The warranty is provided by Walter Kompressortechnik Česko s.r.o. (Ostrava). Machine registration extends the warranty to 36 months from the date of purchase; proof of purchase is required to claim the warranty.
- Claim assessment within 14 working days, approved repairs free of charge and completed within 30 days
- After 4 repairs and a further defect, you are entitled to a replacement of the machine with a fault-free one
- You may perform the prescribed inspections yourself — using original parts and providing proof of purchase
Transport and Commissioning
The machine is delivered on a pallet. Before the first start, check the oil level, direction of rotation, and the tightness of connections; after the first 8 hours of operation, tighten the cylinder head bolts to a torque of 25 Nm. Leave the electrical connection to a professional — for three-phase machines, it is necessary to verify the correct phase sequence.
