WFIFA stainless steel activated carbon filters up to 14 bar
The WFIFA activated carbon filter removes oil vapours, hydrocarbons and odours that the mechanical stages do not trap. The wrapped element is made of borosilicate microfibres with activated carbon and works up to +45 °C.
The WFIFA filter comes in 16 sizes (DN15 to DN200) with flows of 2,500 to 352,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar, sizes from DN100 up to 10 bar. It is one of the stages of the WFIF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WFIFA filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
Activated carbon is suitable where oil vapours and odours that a microfilter does not trap are also a problem. It works up to +45 °C and must not be used in an oil-saturated environment.
Class 1 for solid particles and oil only applies when a microfilter S is installed before it.
Where to place it
After the WFIFM fine pre-filter and the WFIFS microfilter — it is the last stage of the range.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance
A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFA-010V for the WFIFA-010. The same element also fits the PFA-010, HPFA-010, WFITA-010, WFIWA-010 and WHFITA-010. Flanged filters from DN100 have several elements — their number is given in the table for each size. Element working temperature +1.5 to +45 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WFIF filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread, G 1" for sizes from DN100.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

The same stage in other ranges
Stage A also comes in the PFA filters up to 14 bar, HPFA filters up to 50 bar, WFITA filters up to 14 bar, WFIWA filters up to 14 bar and WHFITA filters up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
Carbon only up to +45 °C. The housing withstands +150 °C, but the activated carbon element only +45 °C — warmer air must first be cooled before it.

- Why must a microfilter be installed before it?
- Activated carbon must not work in an oil-saturated environment. The microfilter S traps oil droplets, and only with it does solid particle class 1 apply.

- From +1.5 to +45 °C.
