WHFITA stainless steel activated carbon filters up to 50 bar

The WHFITA activated carbon filter removes oil vapours, hydrocarbons and odours that the mechanical stages do not trap. The wrapped element is made of borosilicate microfibres with activated carbon and works up to +45 °C.
The WHFITA filter comes in 8 sizes (G 1/2" to 3") with flows of 2,500 to 40,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 50 bar. It is one of the stages of the WHFIT filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WHFITA filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. Dimensions according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet; you will find further data on the product page of each filter.

When to use it
Activated carbon is suitable where oil vapours and odours that a microfilter does not trap are also a problem. It works up to +45 °C and must not be used in an oil-saturated environment.
Class 1 for solid particles and oil only applies when a microfilter S is installed before it.
Where to place it

After the WHFITM fine pre-filter and the WHFITS microfilter — it is the last stage of the range.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air — 6.38 times as much at 50 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFA-010V for the WHFITA-010. The same element also fits the PFA-010, HPFA-010, WFITA-010, WFIFA-010 and WFIWA-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +45 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WHFIT filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK50SS stainless steel float drain up to 50 bar, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread, and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
Accessories for WHFITA filters

MDHI 50-K gauge
Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage A also comes in the PFA filters up to 14 bar, HPFA filters up to 50 bar, WFITA filters up to 14 bar, WFIFA filters up to 14 bar and WFIWA filters up to 14 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
Carbon only up to +45 °C. The housing withstands +150 °C, but the activated carbon element only +45 °C — warmer air must first be cooled before it.
- What does the activated carbon filter remove?
- Oil vapours, hydrocarbons and odours that the mechanical stages do not trap.
- Why must a microfilter be installed before it?
- Activated carbon must not work in an oil-saturated environment. The microfilter S traps oil droplets, and only with it does solid particle class 1 apply.
- What temperature does it withstand?
- From +1.5 to +45 °C.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
