HPFI20 sintered stainless steel pre-filters up to 50 bar
The HPFI20 sintered pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 and traps solid particles larger than 20 µm. It is the first stage of the HPF range: it protects the finer stages after it.
The HPFI20 filter comes in 8 sizes (G 1/2" to 3") with flows of 2,500 to 40,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 50 bar. It is one of the stages of the HPF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The 20 µm sintered pre-filter is suitable at the start of the filtration. The element is made entirely of stainless steel and, like the housing, withstands up to +150 °C. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it
At the start of the filtration, before the HPFM fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air — 6.38 times as much at 50 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance
A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFI20-010V for the HPFI20-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For HPF filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK50SS stainless steel float drain up to 50 bar, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/4" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

Coarse contaminants first. The sintered pre-filter I20 traps larger particles before they reach the fine pre-filter, whose element then lasts longer.

- Does it also trap oil?
- No. Oil aerosol is handled by the fine pre-filter M.
- When should the element be replaced?
