HPF stainless steel process filters up to 50 bar, G 1/2" to 3"
HPF process filters from the manufacturer Omega Air are stainless steel housings for pressures up to 50 bar. The housing is made of stainless steel 1.4404 with the outer surface polished to Ra 1.6, the seals of EPDM. The filters take the same elements as the PF range.
Four stages: a 20 µm sintered pre-filter, a 0.1 µm fine pre-filter, activated carbon and a sterile element. The range has 8 sizes with G 1/2" to G 3" threads, with flows of 2,500 to 40,000 l/min at 7 bar. It is one of the stainless steel process filters.

Solid particle class 1 for activated carbon A only applies when an S microfilter is installed before it. The temperature is the limit of the element; the housing withstands +150 °C.

How to put the filtration together
The stages are arranged from coarse to fine in the direction of flow. Each stage protects the finer stages after it, so their elements last longer.
The fine pre-filter M protects the stages after it. A microfilter S goes before activated carbon A — only with it does solid particle class 1 apply. The sterile element SF is at the end of the filtration.
Sizes and dimensions
The size determines the connection, the flow and the housing dimensions. All stages of the same size have the same housing; only the element differs. Each size has one PF range element with the same size number.
Height A is 243 to 1,018 mm, the weight 2.5 to 11.5 kg.

Flow at a different pressure
The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: 2.13 times as much at 16 bar and 6.38 times as much at 50 bar.

Housing and connection
Housing: stainless steel 1.4404, 1.4301 on request, EPDM seals (FKM or silicone on request), outer surface polished to Ra 1.6. It withstands temperatures from −20 to +150 °C; the actual limit depends on the seals and the element.
For oil separation, a coalescing element (fine pre-filter M or microfilter S) is fitted in the housing; the air flows through it from the inside out, and the filter is mounted head up with the bowl down.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain.

Condensate drainage
For HPF filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK50SS stainless steel float drain up to 50 bar, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/4" thread.

A drain rated for 50 bar. The HPF range needs a drain for the same pressure: the AOK50SS float drain, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread.
- What pressure are HPF filters rated for?
- Up to 50 bar. The housing withstands −20 to +150 °C; the elements have their own temperature limit.
- Which elements fit HPF filters?
- PF range elements of the same stage and size — for example, the PFM-010V for the HPFM-010 filter.
- How do I choose the size?
- By the flow at your pressure. The flows apply to 7 bar; at a higher pressure, multiply them by the correction factor — at 50 bar it is 6.38.
- Is a condensate drain included with the filter?
- No. The filter is supplied with an element; the condensate drain is ordered separately. The AOK50SS float drain or the TD420M timed drain is suitable.
- How often should the elements be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
