PFIW1 welded stainless steel pre-filters up to 14 bar

The PFIW1 welded pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 in a welded design and traps solid particles larger than 1 µm. It withstands up to +150 °C.
The PFIW1 filter comes in 13 sizes (G 1/4" to DN100) with flows of 1,250 to 84,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar, sizes from DN100 up to 10 bar. It is one of the stages of the PF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
PFIW1 filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. Dimensions and weights according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet; you will find further data on the product page of each filter.

When to use it
The welded pre-filter IW1 is the second design of the 1 µm stage alongside the sintered pre-filter I1 and goes in the same place in the filtration. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it

After the PFN5 basic filter, before the PFM fine pre-filter — instead of the PFI1 sintered pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFIW1-010V for the PFIW1-010. Flanged filters from DN100 have several elements — their number is given in the table for each size. Element working temperature +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For PF filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/4" thread, G 1" for the flanged sizes.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

The same stage in other ranges
Only the PF range has stage IW1. You will find the other stages among the PF filters.
Ventilek’s tip
Two designs of the 1 µm stage. The sintered pre-filter I1 and the welded IW1 have the same filtration rating and temperature up to +150 °C and go in the same place in the filtration.
- What filtration rating does the PFIW1 pre-filter have?
- The element traps particles larger than 1 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- How does it differ from the PFI1?
- Both elements are made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 with a filtration rating of 1 µm; the IW1 element is of a welded design.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
