BFR flanged compressed air dust filters
The BFR dust filter traps solid particles and liquid water. The borosilicate microfibre elements trap particles larger than 1 µm, and the air meets solid particle class 3 according to ISO 8573-1.
The BFR filter comes in 10 sizes with DN80 to DN300 flanges and flows of 28,000 to 523,333 l/min at 7 bar. It is one of the stages of the BF flanged filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the elements differ.
BFR filters by size
The size determines the flange, the flow and the number of elements. The element is the same for all sizes.

When to use it
A dust filter suits use as a pre-filter before a coalescing filter, or on its own as a dust filter after an adsorption dryer or an activated carbon tower, where it traps dust from the adsorbent.
Where to place it
After the BFP basic filter, before the BFM fine pre-filter or BFS microfilter — or after an adsorption dryer.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, the flow changes according to the correction factor.

Elements, drain and maintenance
Element: borosilicate microfibres, pressure drop of a new element 20 / 40 mbar (dry / wetted). The air flows through it from the inside out. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C, pressure up to 16 bar.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. You will find float, timed and electronic drains among the condensate drains for filters.
Replace the elements at least once a year or at a pressure drop of 350 mbar. The pressure drop is shown by the MDA 60 differential pressure gauge.

A dust filter after an adsorption dryer. Dust from the adsorbent can escape into the air after an adsorption dryer, and the R element traps it before it reaches the air line.
- What rating does the BFR dust filter have?
- 1 µm, solid particle class 3 according to ISO 8573-1.
- Does it also trap oil?
- No, the dust filter does not determine residual oil. For oil, there are the BFM fine pre-filters and BFS microfilters.
- When should the elements be replaced?
- At least once a year or at a pressure drop of 350 mbar.
