BFP basic flanged compressed air filters
The BFP basic filter is a pre-filter for coarse solid contaminants and liquid water. The elements of acrylic fibres and cellulose trap particles larger than 3 µm, and the air meets solid particle class 6 according to ISO 8573-1.
The BFP filter comes in 10 sizes with DN80 to DN300 flanges and flows of 28,000 to 523,333 l/min at 7 bar. It is one of the stages of the BF flanged filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the elements differ.
BFP filters by size
The size determines the flange, the flow and the number of elements. The element is the same for all sizes.

When to use it
A basic filter is enough where the main concern is dirt and oil in the air does not matter. It most often serves as a pre-filter before a coalescing filter, which then lasts longer.
The pressure drop of a new element is only 10 mbar dry and 20 mbar wet, the lowest in the whole range.
Where to place it
After the BFB coarse filter or directly at the start of the filtration, before the BFR dust filter or BFM fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, the flow changes according to the correction factor.

Elements, drain and maintenance
Element: acrylic fibres and cellulose, pressure drop of a new element 10 / 20 mbar (dry / wetted). The air flows through it from the inside out. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C, pressure up to 16 bar.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. You will find float, timed and electronic drains among the condensate drains for filters.
Replace the elements at least once a year or at a pressure drop of 350 mbar. The pressure drop is shown by the MDA 60 differential pressure gauge.

Ventilek’s tip
For dirt, the basic stage is enough. When the air does not have to be oil-free, the BFP filter with the lowest pressure drop in the range will do. For oil, add a fine pre-filter and a microfilter.
- What rating does the BFP basic filter have?
- 3 µm, solid particle class 6 according to ISO 8573-1.
- Does it also trap oil?
- No, the basic filter does not determine residual oil. For oil, there are the BFM fine pre-filters and BFS microfilters.
- When should the elements be replaced?
- At least once a year or at a pressure drop of 350 mbar.
