Product detailed description

The Hankison NGF F07-B-HF coalescing microfilter traps solid and liquid particles larger than 0.01 µm and removes over 99.9% of oil aerosol; residual oil is below 0.01 mg/m³. It has a G 3/4" thread, a flow of 2,916 l/min (175 Nm³/h) at 7 bar and a working pressure of up to 16 bar.

It belongs to the range of Hankison NGF filters: the housing is the same for all five stages, and the stage is determined by the element with its coloured end cap.

Housing and dimensions

Drawing of an NGF filter with dimensions A, B, C and D
A width, B height, C from the connection axis to the bottom edge, D clearance below the filter for removing the element.

The housing is die-cast aluminium, chromated and protected by a polyester epoxy powder coating. The inlet and outlet are shaped as flanges with a female thread; the bowl has internal ribs along which the condensate runs down.

Dimensions according to the manufacturer: width A 132 mm, height B 262.1 mm, connection axis to bottom edge C 219.8 mm, and a clearance D of 127 mm is needed below the filter so that the bowl can be removed. Weight 1.4 kg.

Standard equipment

Cutaway of a Hankison NGF filter with the element inside
NGF filter cutaway (illustrative): the element hangs in the filter head, with the bowl and condensate drain below it.

The filter is supplied with the HF-07 element, a pressure drop indicator on the head and an automatic float condensate drain.

The indicator on the head monitors the pressure drop of the element: as the element clogs, the pressure drop rises. However, also replace the element by time, even if the indicator does not yet signal it.

Flow by pressure

The flow applies to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, it changes according to the correction factor; this filter works up to 16 bar:

Pressure (bar)4567810121416
Flow (l/min)1,8372,1872,5662,9163,2954,0244,8115,4526,211

When to use it

It suits the end of the air line before the point of use, as an oil coalescing filter and as a pre-filter for a membrane or adsorption dryer.

Where to place it

Filtration stages in the direction of flow, with stage HF highlighted
In the direction of flow: 1 basic SF, 2 dust PF, 3 microfilter HF, 4 microfilter UF, 5 activated carbon CF. HF is highlighted.

It goes after the PF dust filter, which protects it, and before CF activated carbon or a dryer.

Element and maintenance

Filter element HF-07
Element end cap colour: green.

Replace the HF-07 element (green end cap) after 3,000 operating hours, within 12 months at the latest, or at a pressure drop of 400 mbar.

Filter medium

Air flow through an NGF filter and a Venturi-Wave element
Air flow through the housing and element (illustrative).

The element has the patented Venturi-Wave shape, through which air enters the element without turbulence, and a deep pleated filter medium with a large area — air passes through it with a lower pressure drop.

You will find other sizes among the filters of the same stage, and spare elements in the NGF accessories.
