WALTER screw compressors
7-year warrantyScrew compressors 5.5–315 kW with a 7-year warranty on the entire machine
WALTER manufactures screw compressors ranging from compact machines for workshops to two-stage units for continuous industrial operation. The range includes 82 models in seven series. They differ in drive, power regulation and design: standalone machine, compressor on an air tank, or a complete set with a dryer. The importer and guarantor is Walter Kompressortechnik Česko from Ostrava.
Seven series of WALTER screw compressors — choose according to power and design
Each series has its own page with all models, parameters and pressures. The series name indicates what the machine can do: F stands for inverter, TG for air tank, KSP for direct drive without a belt, and DSP for two compression stages.
SF DSP — 22–315 kW

- Direct drive 1:1 without a belt
- Three-stage oil separation
- Standalone machine in a cabinet
SF KSP — 5.5–315 kW
Inverter based on consumption. With variable air consumption, it saves up to 35% energy compared to a machine with constant output.

- Direct drive without a belt
SKTG SP and SK SP — 5.5–7.5 kW
Belt drive. Fixed-speed compressors with power input of 5.5 and 7.5 kW: standalone, on an air tank, or in COMBO version.
- 12 models, pressure 8, 10, or 13 bar
- Air tank 270, 300 or 500 l
- COMBO: dryer and filters 1 and 0.01 µm
- Belt drive
SLC Laser Cut — 15–22 kW
For laser cutting. Machines with an inverter for 16 and 20 bar. The SLCTG 15 COMBO model has a dryer and a set of five filters.

Four designs — choose according to what you need

Which range to choose
| Range selection according to operation | |
|---|---|
| Situation | Range |
| Air consumption is constant during the shift | SK KSP, SKTG KSP or SKTG SP — fixed speed and simple design |
| Consumption fluctuates during the day | SF KSP or SFTG KSP — the inverter adapts output to demand and saves up to 35% of energy with variable consumption |
| The machine runs almost continuously and electricity costs are decisive | SF DSP — two-stage compression and IE5 magnetic motor |
| You want a single unit without assembling components | SFTG KSP, SKTG KSP or SKTG SP — compressor on an air tank, also available in COMBO version with a dryer |
| You cut with a laser and need 16 or 20 bar | SLC Laser Cut |
Ventilek advises
First find out how air consumption varies in your case.
If the machine draws a constant load, fixed speed is enough. If consumption fluctuates during a shift, an inverter that continuously adapts the output pays off. And if the compressor must not stop even at night, take a look at the two-stage SF DSP range.
Ranges side by side
| WALTER screw compressors — seven ranges, 82 models | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range | Power input | Drive and control | Design | Models |
| SF DSP | 22–315 kW | direct drive, inverter, two compression stages | stand-alone machine | 13 |
| SF KSP | 5.5–315 kW | direct drive, inverter | standalone unit, for 5.5–15 kW optionally with tank and dryer | 19 |
| SFTG KSP | 5.5–15 kW | direct drive, inverter | on a 270, 300 or 500 l air tank, COMBO with dryer | 14 |
| SK KSP | 11–315 kW | direct drive, fixed speed | stand-alone machine | 17 |
| SKTG KSP | 11–15 kW | direct drive, fixed speed | on a 500 l air tank, COMBO with dryer | 4 |
| SKTG SP and SK SP | 5.5–7.5 kW | belt drive, fixed speed | standalone machine, on a 270, 300 or 500 l air tank, COMBO with dryer | 12 |
| SLC Laser Cut | 15–22 kW | inverter, pressure 16 and 20 bar | standalone machine and COMBO with dryer | 3 |
Pressure for most models is 8, 10 or 13 bar, for the SLC series 16 and 20 bar. For machines with an inverter, the air delivery is given as a range from the lowest to the highest speed; the air delivery of individual models can be found on the series pages.
How to read the model designation
The model designation is an abbreviation that tells you what the machine includes. For example, SFTG 7,5/500 KSP COMBO is a compressor with an inverter (F), built onto an air tank (TG), with a power input of 7.5 kW and a 500 l tank, with direct drive (KSP) and a dryer (COMBO).
| Designation of WALTER screw compressors | |
|---|---|
| Designation | Meaning |
| F | inverter continuously adapts output to demand (SK series have fixed speed) |
| TG | compressor mounted on an air tank |
| KSP | direct drive without a belt |
| SP | belt drive |
| DSP | two-stage compression |
| COMBO | compressor, air tank and dryer in one unit |
| number before the slash | motor input power in kW |
| number after the slash | air tank volume in litres (for the SLC range, operating pressure in bar) |
What's inside

The heart of every machine is the screw block: two rotors with a helical profile, rotating against each other in a housing with oil injection. Air captured between the teeth is compressed continuously in a shrinking space, without pulsation. This is why a screw compressor runs more smoothly and with less vibration than a piston compressor, and is designed for continuous operation.
The KSP and DSP ranges have a direct 1:1 drive: the block is connected to the motor without a belt, so no power is lost in the transmission.
- Three-stage oil separation — for the SK KSP and SF DSP ranges, no more than 3 ppm of oil mist remains in the output air.
- Cooling — efficient axial fan and temperature-controlled motor.
- IE4 and IE5 motors — the SF KSP range has an IE4 motor (IE5 optional), the SF DSP range has an IE5 magnetic motor.
- WALTER CONTROLLER control unit — monitors the cooling and operating conditions of the machine.

- The warranty is valid from the date of purchase and covers the entire compressor, including all components.
- It applies to machines purchased from 1 January 2025.
- The condition is regular maintenance according to the operating manual — for WALTER screw compressors, every 2,000 operating hours.
- Report a defect by e-mail or using the importer's claim form; the claim will be processed within 14 working days.
- The warranty transfers to the next owner if you sell the compressor during the warranty period.
- Service and spare parts are provided by Walter Kompressortechnik Česko in Ostrava.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does a screw compressor pay off compared to a piston compressor?
- A screw compressor is designed for continuous operation, a piston compressor for intermittent operation. It pays off where it runs several hours a day: electricity accounts for over 80% of the cost of producing compressed air over the life of the machine, and this is exactly where a screw compressor saves.
- When does an inverter pay off?
- When air consumption fluctuates during a shift. The inverter adjusts the speed to the current demand and, with variable consumption, saves up to 35% of energy compared to a machine with constant output. Conversely, with steady demand, fixed speed is the better choice.
- How often is service needed?
- For all WALTER screw compressors, every 2,000 motor hours. Regular maintenance is also a condition for the seven-year warranty.
- Can an air receiver and dryer be added to a standalone machine?
- Models SF 5.5–15 KSP can optionally be equipped with an air receiver and a dryer. Ready-made assemblies are the SFTG KSP series (on an air tank) and COMBO (including a dryer).
- What pressure to choose?
- Most models are available in 8, 10, and 13 bar variants. Choose according to the highest pressure your tools require, and add a reserve for losses in the distribution system. The SLC series operates at 16 and 20 bar.
Air delivery is stated according to ISO 1217:2009, Annex C. The sound pressure level is valid with a tolerance of ±3 dB(A) according to ISO 2151:2004 and ISO 9614-2.
