CHP1B high-pressure coarse filters with sintered element up to 100 bar

The CHP1B coarse filter has a sintered brass element and traps solid particles larger than 15 µm. It is the first filtration stage: it removes larger contaminants before they reach the finer stages, which then last longer.
The CHP1B filter comes in 8 sizes with G 1/4" to G 2" threads and flows of 667 to 11,917 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 100 bar. It is one of the stages of the CHP1 high-pressure filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
CHP1B filters by size
The size determines the thread and the flow. Each size has its own spare element.

The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. Dimensions and weights according to the manufacturer; you will find further data on the product page of each filter.

When to use it
A coarse filter suits the start of the filtration, where larger contaminants from the compressor or the air line enter the air. It does not trap oil or vapours.
The sintered element can be cleaned in an ultrasonic bath or by blowing it out against the direction of flow. How often depends on the operation; when cleaning is no longer enough, replace the element.
Where to place it

At the start of the filtration, before the CHP1P basic filter or CHP1R dust filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: from 100 bar, 12 times as much as at 7 bar.

Element, drain and maintenance

The housing holds a single element, a different one for each size — for example CHPB-007V for the CHP1B-007. The same element also fits CHPB filters for a different pressure. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. The TD420M timed drain up to 420 bar is suitable; it is connected to the G 1/4" opening in the bottom.
Clean the sintered element in an ultrasonic bath or by blowing it out against the direction of flow; when cleaning is no longer enough, replace it.

The same stage for a different pressure
Stage B also comes in the CHP2B filters up to 250 bar and CHP4B filters up to 420 bar.
Ventilek’s tip
The sintered element can be cleaned. The brass element B does not have to be replaced straight away — it is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath or by blowing it out against the direction of flow.
- What rating does the CHP1B coarse filter have?
- 15 µm, solid particle class 8 according to ISO 8573-1 (manufacturer’s data).
- Does it also trap oil?
- No. For oil, there are the M fine pre-filters and S microfilters.
- How do I look after the element?
- The sintered element is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath or by blowing it out against the direction of flow. When cleaning is no longer enough, it is replaced.
