CHP2M high-pressure fine pre-filters for particles and oil, 250 bar
The CHP2M fine pre-filter traps fine solid particles larger than 0.1 µm, water and oil aerosol. The pleated element is made of borosilicate microfibres; residual oil is below 0.1 mg/m³.
The CHP2M filter comes in 8 sizes with G 1/4" to G 2" threads and flows of 667 to 11,917 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 250 bar. It is one of the stages of the CHP2 high-pressure filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

The size determines the thread and the flow. Each size has its own spare element.

When to use it
The fine pre-filter M suits applications where oil in the air is a problem and class 2 for particles and oil is enough.
For the highest purity, 1-x-1, there is the microfilter S, and the fine pre-filter M goes before it: it traps most of the particles and oil, and the microfilter element then lasts longer.
Where to place it
After the CHP2R dust filter or CHP2P basic filter, before the CHP2S microfilter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: from 100 bar, 12 times as much as at 7 bar.

Element, drain and maintenance
The housing holds a single element, a different one for each size — for example CHPM-007V for the CHP2M-007. The same element also fits CHPM filters for a different pressure. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C.
The filter is supplied without a condensate drain. The TD420M timed drain up to 420 bar is suitable; it is connected to the G 1/4" opening in the bottom.
Replace the element at a pressure drop of 350 mbar, at least once every 12 months.

The same stage for a different pressure
Stage M also comes in the CHP1M filters up to 100 bar and CHP4M filters up to 420 bar; in the stainless steel version, there are the IHP2M filters.
Ventilek’s tip
A fine pre-filter protects the microfilter. The element of the microfilter S after it then only deals with the finest particles. A coarser stage should come before the fine pre-filter itself so that dust does not clog it.
- What purity does the CHP2M fine pre-filter provide?
- Particles down to 0.1 µm and residual oil below 0.1 mg/m³, class 2-x-2 according to ISO 8573-1.
- Why is it a pre-filter and not a microfilter?
- It is installed before the microfilter S and protects its element. Only stage S, with a rating of 0.01 µm, is a microfilter.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At a pressure drop of 350 mbar, at least once every 12 months.
