CHP4 high-pressure filters up to 420 bar in nickel-plated carbon steel
CHP4 filters from the manufacturer Omega Air clean compressed air at pressures up to 420 bar. The housing is made of carbon steel with chemical nickel plating; the fittings and bolts are made of stainless steel.
Six filtration stages range from the sintered element B to activated carbon A. The range has 8 sizes with G 1/4" to G 2" threads and flows of 667 to 11,917 l/min at 7 bar. It is one of the high-pressure filters up to 420 bar.

How to put the filtration together
The stages are arranged from coarse to fine in the direction of flow. Each stage protects the finer stages after it, so their elements last longer.
The fine pre-filter M goes before the microfilter S. An S microfilter always goes before activated carbon A — only with it does solid particle class 1 apply. Activated carbon must not work in an oil-saturated environment.

Flow at a higher pressure
The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air: the flow is multiplied by the correction factor, which rises up to 100 bar and stays at 12 above that.

Housing and connection
Housing: ANSI A-105 carbon steel with chemical nickel plating, fittings and bolts made of stainless steel 1.4404, FKM seals with a PTFE back-up ring. Working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C, with activated carbon up to +45 °C.
The air is connected through female pipe threads in the filter head; the condensate leaves through a G 1/4" opening in the bottom. The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain.
Accessories
Condensate drainage and mounting
The condensate is drained by the TD420M timed drain up to 420 bar, which is connected with a G 1/4" thread; for a 24 V DC supply, there is the TD420M-24VDC.
The filter is fixed to the wall with the stainless steel brackets CHP-WS (sizes 003 and 005), CHP-WM (007 and 010), CHP-WL (018 and 030) or CHP-WXL (047). Liquid water before the filters is separated by CHP cyclone separators.
Other ranges
The same stages and sizes are also found in CHP1 filters up to 100 bar and CHP2 filters up to 250 bar. The stainless steel version for the same pressure is the IHP4 range.

One element for three pressures. An element of the same stage and size fits the filter for 100, 250 and 420 bar. When replacing it, you only need to know the stage and the size.
- What pressure are the CHP4 filters rated for?
- The working pressure is up to 420 bar, the temperature +1.5 to +65 °C, with activated carbon up to +45 °C.
- How do I choose the size?
- By the flow at your pressure. The flows apply to 7 bar; at a higher pressure, multiply them by the correction factor — from 100 bar it is 12.
- How often should the elements be replaced?
- Elements P, R, M and S at a pressure drop of 350 mbar, at least once every 12 months. Activated carbon elements every 6 months. The sintered element B is cleaned in an ultrasonic bath or by blowing it out.
- Is a condensate drain included with the filter?
- No. The filter is supplied with an element; the condensate drain is ordered separately. The TD420M timed drain up to 420 bar is suitable.
