Six models, 15 to 22 kWThe SPINN Large range is the top of the ABAC line-up we carry. Six machines at 15, 18.5 and 22 kW delivering 2,215 to 3,090 litres per minute — the size at which the question stops being which compressor to buy and becomes how to build the whole compressor room.
That is exactly why the range splits in two. Three standalone machines for sites that already have a receiver and drying. And three complete stations on a 500-litre receiver with a refrigerant dryer, where everything arrives at once on a single frame.
What sets the range apart
S67 block on V-belts
The newest and largest screw block we carry; in continuous duty its efficiency is what decides the electricity bill. The motor drives it through V-belts — parts that are re-tensioned and eventually replaced.
Vertical three-stage oil separation
Highly efficient and built upright. Oil is separated in three steps, so the air reaching the pipework is practically free of oil mist.
Oil sight glass on the outside
Check the oil level by eye, with no panel to remove and no tools. A small thing you appreciate on the daily walk-round.
Infologic2 controller
Monochrome display, operating settings, signalling and tracking of the 2,000 – 4,000 – 8,000 running-hour service intervals.
D versions: a turnkey station
A refrigerant dryer with a dew-point indicator and R410A refrigerant, a 500 l receiver and a ball valve for draining condensate. All on one frame.
What is inside
Under the canopy sits the S67 screw block, driven from the electric motor by V-belts. Air leaving the block goes into vertical three-stage oil separation — in the cutaway photographs that is the tall black vessel in the middle of the machine.
The canopy measures 1,130 × 780 × 1,250 mm on the standalone models, identically on the 15 kW and the 22 kW. The versions on a receiver measure 1,904 × 780 × 1,833 mm. The receiver and dryer always add exactly 275 kg and 774 mm of length.

Warranty
The basic warranty is two years. ABAC offers an extension to five years for a surcharge of 5 % of the machine price (code ABA-5R) — with us that surcharge comes as a gift with the product. The D-500 versions additionally carry ten years against corrosion of the 500-litre pressure vessel.
Ventilek says
At fifteen kilowatts and above, the price of the machine stops deciding and consumption starts. A 22 kW compressor on three shifts will push more electricity through in a year than it cost to buy. At this size it pays to sit down with your actual consumption before you sit down with the price list.
Frequently asked questions
- How does a screw compressor actually work?
- Two intermeshing rotors turn against each other, and the air caught between them is compressed progressively in a space that narrows towards the outlet. Unlike a piston machine there are no strokes, only continuous flow — which is why a screw compressor can run without stopping and why it is quieter. Oil in the rotor chamber lubricates, cools and seals the clearances; before the air leaves for the pipework the oil is removed in vertical three-stage separation.
- When to take a standalone machine and when the D-500?
- Standalone, when you already have a receiver and drying on site and are only replacing the compressor. The D-500, when you are building the compressor room from scratch, or when sourcing a compressor, a receiver and a dryer from different suppliers would mean a project of its own. - How much space does the machine need?
- The standalone models have a 1,130 × 780 mm footprint and stand 1,250 mm tall, identically across all three. The versions on a receiver measure 1,904 × 780 × 1,833 mm. On top of that allow room around the machine for servicing and, above all, an air inlet and outlet for cooling.
- Why does the compressor room have to be ventilated?
- Because practically all the electricity that goes into a compressor comes out of it as heat. On a 22 kW machine that is twenty-two kilowatts of heat that must have somewhere to go. Without ventilation the machine draws in its own warmed air, loses output and eventually trips on temperature.
- How does it differ from the SPINN Maxi range?
- SPINN Maxi ends at fifteen kilowatts; Large starts there and runs to twenty-two. Large has the larger S67 screw block and vertical three-stage oil separation, and the versions on a receiver use a 500-litre vessel rather than a smaller one.
- What about the warranty?
