WFIFI20 sintered stainless steel pre-filters up to 14 bar
The WFIFI20 sintered pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 and traps solid particles larger than 20 µm. It goes at the start of the filtration in the WFIF range: it protects the finer stages after it.
The WFIFI20 filter comes in 16 sizes (DN15 to DN200) with flows of 2,500 to 352,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar, sizes from DN100 up to 10 bar. It is one of the stages of the WFIF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

When to use it
The 20 µm sintered pre-filter is suitable at the start of the filtration. The element is made entirely of stainless steel and, like the housing, withstands up to +150 °C. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it
At the start of the filtration or after the WFIFN25 coarse filter, before the WFIFN5 basic filter or the WFIFM fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance
A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFI20-010V for the WFIFI20-010. The same element also fits the PFI20-010, HPFI20-010, WFITI20-010, WFIWI20-010 and WHFITI20-010. Flanged filters from DN100 have several elements — their number is given in the table for each size. Element working temperature +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WFIF filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread, G 1" for sizes from DN100.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

Stage I20 also comes in the PFI20 filters up to 14 bar, HPFI20 filters up to 50 bar, WFITI20 filters up to 14 bar, WFIWI20 filters up to 14 bar and WHFITI20 filters up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.

Coarse contaminants first. The sintered pre-filter I20 traps larger particles before they reach the fine pre-filter, whose element then lasts longer.
- What filtration rating does the WFIFI20 pre-filter have?
- The element traps particles larger than 20 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- Does it also trap oil?
- No. Oil aerosol is handled by the fine pre-filter M.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
