ABAC SPINN MAXI 5.5 - 15 kW screw compressors
Seven models, two versionsThe SPINN Maxi range starts where a workshop compressor stops being enough. Seven machines from 696 to 1,680 litres a minute cover operations where air is drawn all shift long and a breakdown stops the work.
The range splits in two. Standalone units are only a source of air for pipework where the receiver already stands — and all three fit the same 850 × 720 mm canopy. Sets marked DX carry the compressor, the receiver and a refrigerant dryer in one frame.
What sets SPINN Maxi apart
The latest-generation C55 block
A screw block with high compression efficiency. It is the main reason a screw machine uses less electricity for the same volume of air than a piston one.
V-belt drive
The motor drives the block through V-belts. That is how the maker covers three outputs with one canopy; the belts do need tensioning and eventual replacement — a direct drive has no such part.
Infologic2 controller
Electronic control with a display comes as standard on all seven models. It tracks running hours, service intervals and fault states.
Refrigerant dryer on DX versions
A dryer using the eco-friendly R513A refrigerant takes the water out right at the outlet. No moisture then reaches the pipework to ruin tools or paintwork.
Condensate without daily attention
The central automatic condensate drain on DX sets does away with daily manual draining.
What is inside
Under the canopy sits the C55 screw block, driven from the motor by V-belts. Beside it the cooler, the oil circuit and the separator; on DX versions also a refrigerant dryer and a central condensate drain.
The canopy is sound-insulated and the panels come off, so everything is reachable without dismantling the machine. The oil sight glass is on the outside — you can check the oil level without opening anything.

Warranty
The basic warranty is two years. ABAC offers an extension to five years for a surcharge of 5 % of the machine price — with us that surcharge comes as a gift with the product. DX versions with a pressure vessel also carry ten years against corrosion of that vessel.

Do not ask how many kilowatts. Ask how many litres a minute. Kilowatts are consumption, not output. Add up what will run at the same time, and only then pick the machine by litres per minute. That way you will not buy the 15 kW where the 7.5 would have done.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between a standalone unit and a DX version?
- A standalone unit is only a source of air — the receiver and the dryer have to be in your pipework. The DX version has the compressor, the receiver and a refrigerant dryer in one frame, so nothing needs assembling.
- Why do all three standalone models have the same dimensions?
- They share the same 850 × 720 × 980 mm canopy. They differ in the motor and the belt ratio, not in size. Anyone who later adds output does not have to change the space in the plant room.
- Does SPINN Maxi have a variable speed drive?
- It does not. The machines run at fixed speed. Where demand fluctuates a lot through the day, the variable-speed ranges save more — with us that is ABAC SPINN SPV or ABAC CROSS.
- How does the warranty work?
- The basic warranty is two years. ABAC offers an extension to five years for a surcharge of 5 % of the machine price — with us that surcharge comes as a gift with the product. The extension carries the maker code ABA-5R. DX versions additionally carry ten years against corrosion of the pressure vessel; standalone units have no vessel, so it does not apply to them.

- The motor drives the screw block through V-belts rather than directly. That is how the maker gets three outputs from one canopy. The belts are a part that gets tensioned and eventually replaced — allow for that in your service plan.
- How loud is it?
- From 64 dB(A) on the smallest set to 71 dB(A) on the 15 kW. Seven decibels is a noticeable difference. The figures are measured to ISO 2151:2004 at a distance of 4 m.
