SPFIW20 welded stainless steel pre-filters up to 14 bar
The SPFIW20 welded pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 in a welded design and traps solid particles larger than 20 µm. It withstands up to +150 °C.
The SPFIW20 filter comes in 12 sizes (G 1/4" to 3") with flows of 1,250 to 60,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar. It is one of the twelve stages of the SPF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The welded pre-filter IW20 is the second design of the 20 µm stage alongside the sintered pre-filter I20 and goes in the same place in the filtration. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
The element is made entirely of stainless steel and, like the housing, withstands up to +150 °C.
Where to place it
At the start of the filtration or after the SPFN25 coarse filter, before the SPFN5 basic filter or the SPFM fine pre-filter — instead of the SPFI20 sintered pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element and maintenance
A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFIW20-010V for the SPFIW20-010. The same element also fits the PF, HPF, WFIT, WFIF, WFIW and WHFIT process filters of the same size. The working temperature of the element is +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. You will find all elements among the PF range spare elements.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

Stage IW20 also comes in process filters: PFIW20 up to 14 bar, HPFIW20 up to 50 bar, WFITIW20 up to 14 bar, WFIFIW20 up to 14 bar, WFIWIW20 up to 14 bar and WHFITIW20 up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
