SPFI20 sintered stainless steel pre-filters up to 14 bar
The SPFI20 sintered pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 and traps solid particles larger than 20 µm. It goes at the start of the filtration in the SPF range: it protects the finer stages after it.
The SPFI20 filter comes in 12 sizes (G 1/4" to 3") with flows of 1,250 to 60,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar. It is one of the twelve stages of the SPF filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.

The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The 20 µm sintered pre-filter is suitable at the start of the filtration. The element is made entirely of stainless steel and, like the housing, withstands up to +150 °C. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it
At the start of the filtration or after the SPFN25 coarse filter, before the SPFN5 basic filter or the SPFM fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element and maintenance
A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFI20-010V for the SPFI20-010. The same element also fits the PF, HPF, WFIT, WFIF, WFIW and WHFIT process filters of the same size. The working temperature of the element is +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. You will find all elements among the PF range spare elements.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage I20 also comes in process filters: PFI20 up to 14 bar, HPFI20 up to 50 bar, WFITI20 up to 14 bar, WFIFI20 up to 14 bar, WFIWI20 up to 14 bar and WHFITI20 up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.

Coarse contaminants first. The sintered pre-filter I20 traps larger particles before they reach the fine pre-filter, whose element then lasts longer.

- The element traps particles larger than 20 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- Does it also trap oil?
- No. Oil aerosol is handled by the fine pre-filter M.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
