WHFITIW20 welded stainless steel pre-filters up to 50 bar

The WHFITIW20 welded pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 in a welded design and traps solid particles larger than 20 µm. It withstands up to +150 °C.
The WHFITIW20 filter comes in 8 sizes (G 1/2" to 3") with flows of 2,500 to 40,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 50 bar. It is one of the stages of the WHFIT filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WHFITIW20 filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The welded pre-filter IW20 is the second design of the 20 µm stage alongside the sintered pre-filter I20 and goes in the same place in the filtration. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
The element is made entirely of stainless steel and, like the housing, withstands up to +150 °C.
Where to place it

At the start of the filtration or after the WHFITN25 coarse filter, before the WHFITN5 basic filter or the WHFITM fine pre-filter — instead of the WHFITI20 sintered pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air — 6.38 times as much at 50 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFIW20-010V for the WHFITIW20-010. The same element also fits the PFIW20-010, HPFIW20-010, WFITIW20-010, WFIFIW20-010 and WFIWIW20-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WHFIT filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK50SS stainless steel float drain up to 50 bar, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread, and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage IW20 also comes in the PFIW20 filters up to 14 bar, HPFIW20 filters up to 50 bar, WFITIW20 filters up to 14 bar, WFIFIW20 filters up to 14 bar and WFIWIW20 filters up to 14 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
Two designs of the 20 µm stage. The sintered pre-filter I20 and the welded IW20 have the same filtration rating and temperature up to +150 °C and go in the same place in the filtration.
- What filtration rating does the WHFITIW20 pre-filter have?
- The element traps particles larger than 20 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- How does it differ from the WHFITI20?
- Both elements are made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 with a filtration rating of 20 µm; the IW20 element is of a welded design.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
