WFIWS stainless steel compressed air microfilters up to 14 bar

The WFIWS microfilter is the finest mechanical stage of the WFIW range. The pleated borosilicate microfibre element traps particles larger than 0.01 µm and removes oil down to a residual content below 0.01 mg/m³ — class 1-x-1 according to ISO 8573-1.
The WFIWS filter comes in 11 sizes (pipe ø 17.2 to 88.9 mm) with flows of 1,250 to 60,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar. It is one of the stages of the WFIW filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WFIWS filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The microfilter S is suitable wherever the air must be very clean of particles and oil. It is also a mandatory stage before activated carbon — only with it does activated carbon reach solid particle class 1.
A fine pre-filter M goes before the microfilter S; it traps particles and oil down to 0.1 µm, and the microfilter element then lasts longer. The element withstands +120 °C.
Where to place it

After the WFIWM fine pre-filter, which protects it. It can be followed by the WFIWA activated carbon.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFS-010V for the WFIWS-010. The same element also fits the PFS-010, HPFS-010, WFITS-010, WFIFS-010 and WHFITS-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +120 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WFIW filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
Accessories for WFIWS filters

MDHI 50-K gauge
Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage S also comes in the PFS filters up to 14 bar, HPFS filters up to 50 bar, WFITS filters up to 14 bar, WFIFS filters up to 14 bar and WHFITS filters up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
A microfilter needs a fine pre-filter. Install the fine pre-filter M before the microfilter S. The microfilter then only deals with the finest particles, and its element lasts longer.
- What purity does the WFIWS microfilter achieve?
- Particles down to 0.01 µm and residual oil below 0.01 mg/m³, class 1-x-1 according to ISO 8573-1.
- What goes before the microfilter?
- A fine pre-filter M, so that the microfilter element does not clog as quickly.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
