WFIWM stainless fine pre-filters for particles and oil up to 14 bar

The WFIWM fine pre-filter traps fine solid particles larger than 0.1 µm, water and oil aerosol. The pleated element is made of borosilicate microfibres; residual oil is below 0.1 mg/m³ — class 2-x-2 according to ISO 8573-1.
The WFIWM filter comes in 11 sizes (pipe ø 17.2 to 88.9 mm) with flows of 1,250 to 60,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar. It is one of the stages of the WFIW filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WFIWM filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The fine pre-filter M is suitable when oil in the air is a problem and class 2 for particles and oil is enough. The element withstands +120 °C.
A fine pre-filter always goes before a microfilter: it traps most of the particles and oil, and the microfilter element then lasts longer.
Where to place it

After the WFIWI1 sintered pre-filter, the WFIWR dust filter or the WFIWN5 basic filter, before the WFIWS microfilter: it protects its element, which then lasts longer.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFM-010V for the WFIWM-010. The same element also fits the PFM-010, HPFM-010, WFITM-010, WFIFM-010 and WHFITM-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +120 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WFIW filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
Accessories for WFIWM filters

MDHI 50-K gauge
Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage M also comes in the PFM filters up to 14 bar, HPFM filters up to 50 bar, WFITM filters up to 14 bar, WFIFM filters up to 14 bar and WHFITM filters up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
The fine pre-filter protects the microfilter. The microfilter element after it then only deals with the finest particles. A coarser stage should go before the fine pre-filter itself so that it does not clog with dust.
- What purity does the WFIWM fine pre-filter achieve?
- Particles down to 0.1 µm and residual oil below 0.1 mg/m³, class 2-x-2 according to ISO 8573-1.
- Why is it a pre-filter and not a microfilter?
- It is installed before the microfilter S and protects its element. The microfilter is the S stage with a filtration rating of 0.01 µm.
- What temperature does it withstand?
- The element up to +120 °C.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
