SCR-90/8EPM2 screw compressor motor power input 90 kW, supplied pressure 8 bar, volumetric flow rate 1140 Nm3/h
Code: SCR-90/8EPM2Related products
Product detailed description
Ninety kilowatts at eight bar delivers 19,000 l/min. It is the most powerful machine that still fits the smaller of the two large frames in the range, and so a frequent choice where the compressor room cannot be extended.
Why 8 bar
Eight bar means 19,000 l/min against 20,000 at seven — a 5 % difference. The extra bar costs around seven percent of the energy, so on a 90 kW machine running continuously it comes to a six-figure sum over the machine’s life.
| The same 90 kW machine at three pressure settings | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Order code | Pressure | Free air delivery (l/min) | Loss against 7 bar |
| SCR-90/7EPM2 | 7 bar | 5,100 – 20,000 | 0 % |
| SCR-90/8EPM2 — this machine | 8 bar | 5,000 – 19,000 | 5 % |
| SCR-90/10EPM2 | 10 bar | 4,000 – 16,500 | 18 % |
The dimensions of 2,280 × 1,500 × 1,950 mm, weight of 2,050 kg, DN 65 outlet and noise level of 78 dB(A) are identical across all three settings — it is one and the same machine.

How it differs from its neighbours
The smaller SCR-75/8EPM2 gives 16,000 l/min in the same frame and is 40 kg lighter. The larger SCR-110/8EPM2 adds 5,000 l/min, but with it comes 850 kg, a new frame and a DN 80 outlet.
What is inside
Permanent magnet motor
Permanent magnets, IP65 protection and no bearings to grease. On 90 kW the difference against an IE2 motor is five to six percent of consumption — and the machine runs constantly.
Direct drive through a taper coupling
A taper coupling joins motor and airend — no belt to slip and eat into 19,000 l/min. One maintenance item that simply is not there.
Frequency inverter
The band from 5,000 to 19,000 l/min is covered without shutting down — the machine comes down to 26 % of output. The soft start puts no more load on the supply than normal running.
New-generation airend
The new airend raises efficiency by up to 16 %. On 90 kW in continuous operation that is the single largest saving after the inverter. Engineered for 20 years.
SCR9000 controller
It shares a cascade of up to sixteen machines out on its own. On a machine needing 17,500 m³/h of ventilation the installation is usually several units — and the control system is not rebuilt when it grows.
What the machine needs in the compressor room
At 2,050 kg the weight is only 40 kg above the 75 kW, so as far as the floor and handling are concerned it is the same machine. At 19,000 l/min that is 1,140 m³/h — a volume at which it becomes worth addressing the use of waste heat as well.

Equipment
- permanent magnet motor above IE4 level, oil-cooled in a closed circuit, IP65 protection, no bearings
- direct drive through a taper coupling — no belts, gearbox or coupling
- vector-controlled frequency inverter, regulation across 25 to 100 % of speed
- the cooling fan is inverter-driven as well
- new screw airend with a rotor profile developed in Japan, service life over 100,000 hours
- SCR9000 controller with touchscreen, weekly schedule and cascade of up to 16 machines
- intake nanofilter with 99.9 % retention, 0.1 µm oil filter
- oversized separator holding residual oil below 3 ppm
- all-steel internal pipework instead of rubber hoses
- soft start — the current never exceeds the rated value
Before you reach for the 110 kW, check the floor loading and the access into the compressor room — that is often decisive before price ever comes into it. The figures for both classes sit side by side in the SCR-EPM2 range; we will run the calculation across the country.
Between the 90 and the 110 kW is the biggest jump in what the building has to provide anywhere in the range. Measure the doors and the floor before you order.

Shanghai Screw Compressor Co., Ltd(SCR) is a manufacturing company founded in 2000, focusing on innovation, research, development, production, sales and service in the field of industrial compressors. The SCR production plant is a modern facility with more than 250 employees on an area of over 80,000m2. More than 10% of the staff is in the engineering division with a focus on research and development.
SCR's product portfolio consists of energy-efficient screw compressors, including oil-free and two-stage solutions. SCR manufactures in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, holds CE certification for the European market, UL for the US market, Class Zero certification for oil-free machines and the performance of all machines manufactured is audited by SGS.
After more than 20 years of development, SCR has entered into strategic collaborations with many partners and its products are exported to more than 80 countries worldwide.
In 2018, SCR entered into a strategic cooperation in the form of a joint venture with Japanese manufacturer Anest Iwata, which has implemented its quality and technology control system at SCR, helping to develop and bring new, energy-efficient solutions and even more reliable compressors to the market.
