WHFITIW1 welded stainless steel pre-filters up to 50 bar

The WHFITIW1 welded pre-filter has an element made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 in a welded design and traps solid particles larger than 1 µm. It withstands up to +150 °C.
The WHFITIW1 filter comes in 8 sizes (G 1/2" to 3") with flows of 2,500 to 40,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 50 bar. It is one of the stages of the WHFIT filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WHFITIW1 filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

When to use it
The welded pre-filter IW1 is the second design of the 1 µm stage alongside the sintered pre-filter I1 and goes in the same place in the filtration. It does not trap oil; the manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
Where to place it

After the WHFITN5 basic filter or the WHFITP fibre pre-filter, before the WHFITM fine pre-filter — instead of the WHFITI1 sintered pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a higher pressure the filter passes more air — 6.38 times as much at 50 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFIW1-010V for the WHFITIW1-010. The same element also fits the PFIW1-010, HPFIW1-010, WFITIW1-010, WFIFIW1-010 and WFIWIW1-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +150 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WHFIT filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK50SS stainless steel float drain up to 50 bar, recommended from 10 bar, or the TD420M timed drain with a G 1/4" thread, and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.

MDHI 50-K gauge
Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage IW1 also comes in the PFIW1 filters up to 14 bar, HPFIW1 filters up to 50 bar, WFITIW1 filters up to 14 bar, WFIFIW1 filters up to 14 bar and WFIWIW1 filters up to 14 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
Two designs of the 1 µm stage. The sintered pre-filter I1 and the welded IW1 have the same filtration rating and temperature up to +150 °C and go in the same place in the filtration.
- What filtration rating does the WHFITIW1 pre-filter have?
- The element traps particles larger than 1 µm. The manufacturer does not state an ISO 8573-1 class for it.
- How does it differ from the WHFITI1?
- Both elements are made of sintered stainless steel 1.4404 with a filtration rating of 1 µm; the IW1 element is of a welded design.
- When should the element be replaced?
- At least once every 12 months.
