WFIWP fibre pre-filters for dust up to 14 bar

The WFIWP fibre pre-filter has a pleated element of acrylic fibres and cellulose and traps solid particles and dust larger than 3 µm — solid particle class 6 according to ISO 8573-1. The housing is made of stainless steel 1.4404.
The WFIWP filter comes in 11 sizes (pipe ø 17.2 to 88.9 mm) with flows of 1,250 to 60,000 l/min at 7 bar; working pressure up to 14 bar. It is one of the stages of the WFIW filters — the housing is the same for all stages, only the element differs.
WFIWP filters by size
The size determines the connection and the flow. Each size has its own PF range spare element.

The flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. Dimensions according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet; you will find further data on the product page of each filter.

When to use it
The fibre pre-filter P is suitable where the air contains dust and finer contaminants that a stainless steel mesh lets through. The element only withstands +65 °C — for warmer air, there are meshes and sintered elements up to +150 °C.
The manufacturer does not state an oil class for it; oil aerosol is handled by the fine pre-filter M.
Where to place it

After the WFIWN5 basic filter or the WFIWI20 sintered pre-filter, before the WFIWR dust filter or the WFIWM fine pre-filter.
Flow by pressure
The catalogue flows apply to a pressure of 7 bar and a temperature of +20 °C. At a different pressure, they are multiplied by the correction factor: 1.88 at 14 bar.

Element, condensate drainage and maintenance

A PF range element is fitted in the housing — for example, the PFP-010V for the WFIWP-010. The same element also fits the PFP-010, HPFP-010, WFITP-010, WFIFP-010 and WHFITP-010. Element working temperature +1.5 to +65 °C.
The filter is supplied with an element, without a condensate drain. For WFIW filters, the manufacturer offers the AOK20SS stainless steel float drain up to 20 bar and +65 °C and, for the head, the MDHI 50-K differential pressure gauge. The drain outlet in the bottom has a G 1/2" thread.
Replace the element at least once every 12 months. Once a year, also check the housing for visible damage.
Accessories for WFIWP filters

MDHI 50-K gauge
Differential pressure gauge with connecting tubes; it shows how clogged the element is.
The same stage in other ranges
Stage P also comes in the PFP filters up to 14 bar, HPFP filters up to 50 bar, WFITP filters up to 14 bar, WFIFP filters up to 14 bar and WHFITP filters up to 50 bar. The elements are the same for all ranges.
Ventilek’s tip
Fibres only up to +65 °C. The fibre element P is suitable for cooler air. For warmer air, choose the N5 mesh or a sintered pre-filter — they withstand +150 °C.
