Metal compressed air treatment units B2 up to 18 bar
Metal B2 compressed air treatment units withstand an inlet pressure of up to 18 bar, more than standard units rated for 10 bar. They come in three body sizes with G 1/4" to 1" threads and, besides air, they also treat inert gases.
The range is modular: a filter, microfilter, regulator, lubricator, shut-off valve and manifold module can be joined with connection kits into an assembly that fits your needs exactly. The bodies are made of painted aluminium and zamak, and the regulators come with a pressure gauge.
B2 components in three sizes
Size 1 has a 42 mm body and a G 1/4" thread, size 2 a 60 mm body and a G 3/8" or 1/2" thread, size 3 an 80 mm body and a G 3/4" or 1" thread. Dimensions are length × width × height.

Flow is the maximum air flow through the component in litres per minute. The working pressure of all components is at most 18 bar, the working temperature +5 to +50 °C.
Accessories by size
Mounting brackets, connection kits and manifold modules are chosen by the size of the component. The float drain fits filters and microfilters of all sizes.

Which component to choose
Constant pressure
The B2R pressure regulator reduces the pressure from as high as 18 bar to a value from 0 to 12 bar and holds it even when the line pressure fluctuates.
Clean air
The B2F filter with 20 µm filtration traps solid particles, water and oil from the air line.
Very clean air
The B2FM microfilter with 0.01 µm filtration also traps what a standard filter lets through. It is installed after the B2F filter.
Tool lubrication
The B2L lubricator adds oil mist to the air. You set the oil dose with the screw on top.
Two in one
The B2S filter regulator combines a filter and a regulator in a single body. It saves space and one connection.
Complete treatment
The B2U air treatment unit combines a filter regulator with a lubricator and is connected as one piece.
Remote setting
The B2PR pilot-operated regulator is set by an air signal. It suits places that are hard to reach.
Safe isolation
The B2V shut-off valve closes the supply and exhausts everything downstream, for example before maintenance.
How to choose the size
Add up the air consumption of the tools and machines that will run at the same time and choose the size whose flow is higher. The flow rates of the individual components are in the tables above.
In sizes 2 and 3, both threads share the same body and the same flow, so choose the thread to match your pipe or hose. An air treatment unit passes less air than separate components, because the air flows through both the filter regulator and the lubricator.
An assembly to suit your needs
Joining components
Components of sizes 1 and 2 are joined by the B2CK connection kit with no pipes or hoses between them. Each joint takes one kit.
Branch within the assembly
The B2T manifold module is inserted between components and has four branch ports. Between the filter regulator and the lubricator, it supplies oil-free air.
Mounting
Fix the regulator, filter regulator or unit to a wall with the B2UR bracket. The components can also be built into a machine housing and secured with a lock nut.
Where B2 units fit
- Higher-pressure air lines. Where the compressor or the air line runs above 10 bar, standard units are not enough. The B2 range withstands up to 18 bar.
- Production and lines. A filter and regulator in front of the machine keep the pressure constant and protect pneumatic valves and cylinders. The components can be built straight into the machine housing.
- Painting and spraying. A filter, microfilter and regulator without a lubricator deliver very clean, oil-free air. For the most demanding applications there are industrial filters to ISO 8573.
- Inert gases. Besides compressed air, B2 components also treat inert gases.
Connection and mounting
Order of components
In the direction of flow: 1 shut-off valve, 2 filter 20 µm, 3 microfilter 0.01 µm, 4 pressure regulator and 5 lubricator. Simply leave out the components you do not need.
The microfilter always goes directly after the filter. In the filter regulator and the air treatment unit, the order is set at the factory.
Pressure gauge
Regulators, filter regulators and units come with a 0–16 bar pressure gauge: Ø 40 mm for sizes 1 and 2, Ø 63 mm for size 3. The pilot-operated regulator is supplied without a gauge. You will find others among the pressure gauges for compressed air.
Connection
The inlet and outlet have a G female pipe thread. For a quick coupling, screw in a male-threaded nipple of the same size.
Maintenance
Condensate is released from the bowl of the filter, microfilter and filter regulator manually, through the drain at the bottom of the bowl. Drain it regularly and never let it rise to the filter element.
On filters and microfilters, the manual drain can be replaced with the float drain shown in the picture, which releases the condensate by itself.
Fill the lubricator with oil for pneumatic tools, for example OLN-1. Always shut off the supply and release the pressure before opening the bowl.
Other air treatment unit ranges
For pressure up to 10 bar, the basic A2 units are enough, and the robust I8 units are another range rated for 18 bar. For potentially explosive atmospheres there are FUTURA units with ATEX up to 16 bar. Small plastic units are the I3 range up to 13 bar and the miniature P2 range up to 12 bar. Precise pressure setting is provided by precision pressure regulators, and all ranges are shown in the overview of air treatment units.
Ventilek’s tip
High pressure right up to the machine. When the air line runs at 12 or 16 bar, you do not have to reduce the pressure at the compressor. B2 components withstand it, and the regulator at the machine sets exactly as much as the machine needs.
- What pressure can B2 units take?
- A working pressure of at most 18 bar at a working temperature of +5 to +50 °C.
- What is the pressure setting range?
- The regulator, filter regulator and air treatment unit set the outlet pressure from 0 to 12 bar.
- Is a pressure gauge included?
- Yes, with the pressure regulator, filter regulator and air treatment unit: Ø 40 mm for 1/4" to 1/2" threads, Ø 63 mm for 3/4" and 1", range 0–16 bar. The pilot-operated regulator is supplied without a gauge.
- Is a mounting bracket included?
- No, the bracket is ordered separately: B2UR-1 for the 1/4" thread, B2UR-2 for 3/8" and 1/2".
- How fine is the filtration?
- The filter and the filter regulator have a filter rating of 20 µm, the microfilter 0.01 µm. The microfilter is always installed after a 20 µm filter.
- How is condensate drained?
- Manually, through the drain at the bottom of the bowl. Filters and microfilters can be fitted with the B2FD float drain, which releases the condensate by itself.
- What do sizes 1, 2 and 3 mean?
- They are the body sizes of the components: 1 = 42 mm body and 1/4" thread, 2 = 60 mm and 3/8" or 1/2" thread, 3 = 80 mm and 3/4" or 1" thread. Accessories are chosen by size.
- Can the components be joined into one assembly?
- Yes, components of sizes 1 and 2 are joined by the B2CK connection kit, one kit per joint. A B2T manifold module with four branch ports can be inserted between the components.
- Are the units suitable for other gases?
- Yes, besides compressed air they are also suitable for inert gases.
- What are the units made of?
- The component bodies are made of painted aluminium and zamak, a zinc alloy.
