Scroll compressor SCR-7/7XA total power input 7.4 kW, working pressure 7 bar, free air delivery 50.4 Nm³/h
Code: SCR-7/7XAProduct detailed description
60 dB(A) · Class 0The SCR-7/7XA is an oil-free scroll compressor with a free air delivery of 840 l/min (50.4 Nm³/h) at a working pressure of 7 bar. The air is compressed by 2 scroll blocks from ANEST IWATA of 3.7 kW each, and the total power input is 7.4 kW. There is no oil in the compressed air — not filtered out, but simply absent, because there is none in the machine. The noise level of 60 dB(A) makes it the second quietest in the range.
Why 7 bar in particular
The seven-bar version is the most productive of the SCR-7XA trio: it gives 840 l/min. The same machine set to 8 bar delivers 800 l/min and at 10 bar only 700 l/min — for exactly the same 7.4 kW power input. If your tools manage on seven bar, this is the cheapest air the SCR-7XA will give you.
Inside the SCR-7/7XA
2 separate blocks instead of one large one

The machine is assembled from 2 scroll blocks of 3.7 kW, each with its own cooler and fan. The SCR9000 unit does not start them together — it adds them one by one according to how much air you are actually drawing. At half the consumption roughly half the blocks run, so the machine does not draw 7.4 kW all the time, only when it is genuinely needed. One block gives about 420 l/min. The control also watches the running hours and rotates the blocks so they wear evenly. The practical consequence: a fault on one block does not stop the plant — the other one keep running at reduced output.
What Class 0 means

ISO 8573-1 divides compressed air into classes by the content of solid particles, water and oil. For oil, Class 1 permits at most 0.01 mg per cubic metre. Class 0 is stricter than Class 1 and cannot simply be declared — it has to be proven by measurement. On the SCR-XA range it was verified by TÜV Rheinland. The difference from an "oil-free" piston machine is fundamental: the SCR-7/7XA has nowhere to get oil from, because the scrolls never touch in operation and there is no lubricant anywhere in the pressure circuit. This is not oil that has been filtered out, but oil that was never in the machine.

What the machine asks of your site
Where to put a machine like this

About the level of ordinary conversation. It belongs in a separate room, but it does not need a sound-insulated compressor room. The machine measures 1,200 × 650 × 998 mm (L × W × H) and weighs 280 kg, so it takes up 0.78 m² of floor. Cooling air is drawn in at the sides and the heat is blown out at the rear where the fans are — leave clear space behind the machine and allow for removing the heat from the room. The compressed air outlet is 1".
What the machine consumes
For every cubic metre of air per minute this model takes roughly 8.8 kW of rated power input (7.4 kW for 840 l/min). It is a figure calculated from the manufacturer’s table, so it can be compared directly with the machine you are considering alongside it. On the multi-block design there is the further point that at partial demand only some of the blocks run, so actual consumption falls with demand.
SCR9000 control unit

It is operated from a colour seven-inch touchscreen or eight navigation buttons. It shows pressure, temperature, energy consumption and running hours, keeps track of service intervals and returns to operation on its own after a power cut. On the SCR-7/7XA it also controls the sequencing of all 2 blocks and shares the running hours between them.
Where air from the SCR-7/7XA is used
Oil in the air is a problem anywhere the air touches the product, the packaging or a person. With an output of 840 l/min the SCR-7/7XA suits plants with several workstations at once — surgeries, laboratory benches or smaller packing lines.

Equipment and purchase
What the SCR-7/7XA does out of the box
- Oil-free Class 0 air to ISO 8573-1, verified by TÜV Rheinland
- ANEST IWATA scroll blocks — 2 of them, robotic production
- SCR9000 control unit with a colour 7" touchscreen
- Energy consumption metering, four pressure bands, weekly run scheduling
- Modbus RS485 communication and network control of up to sixteen compressors
- Automatic restart after a power cut
- Compressed air cooler and fan on every block
- Safety valve, pressure and temperature sensors
SCRent rental instead of an investment
You do not have to buy the machine. The SCRent programme offers a five-year rental in monthly instalments which are a direct business cost and are all-inclusive.
- The price of the chosen compressor model and of the air treatment equipment
- Regular servicing for the whole rental period, with no limit on running hours
- Transport of the equipment to site and commissioning
- Periodic pressure vessel inspections
- Emergency service and free environmental disposal of waste
- Discounts on spare parts and operating fluids
Where to look if this model is not the one
The seven is where the multi-block design begins — two blocks that switch in according to demand. That is exactly why it pays off even where one large machine would cover the peak. The single-block predecessor is the SCR-4/7XA, and a third more air comes from the three-block SCR-11/7XA. The oil-lubricated alternative at this power input is the SCR-APM Maxi.
Ventilek advises
This machine has 2 blocks and that is its main trick: it does not run flat out all the time. When you are drawing half, about half the blocks are running. Anyone whose demand jumps up and down saves more on this than on anything else.
Free air delivery is measured to ISO 1217, Annex C. The noise level is sound pressure to ISO 2151. The air purity class is defined by ISO 8573-1. The figures given are the manufacturer’s rated data and apply to intake air at 20 °C and 1 bar absolute.
